Man Held for Carrying Unlicensed Firearm
TABINA – On or about 4:05 pm of august 25, 2017, a
concern citizen called-up through PNP hotline number of Tabina MPS, that an
unidentified person, having a drinking spree at oyoa’s videoke house located at
Port Area, Purok Saniblangis, Poblacion, Tabina, was seen carrying a short
firearms bragging his drinking companions. The responding Tabina police saw the said
person carrying a short firearm, thus, prompting the responders to effect
arrest upon the suspect which was later identified as Marlon Gadunan Ojas, 31
years old, fisherman and a resident of San Pedro District, Pagadian City. Upon
verification of the documents of said firearms, the suspect failed to present a
license to possess or a permit to carry firearm outside his residence.
confiscated from his possession and control was a caliber 45 pistol 1911a1,
norinco with serial number 492785, one (1) magazine loaded with eight (8) live
ammunitions. Arrested person is temporarily detained at Tabina lock-up cell for
proper disposition while a case for violation of ra 10591 is being prepared.

afternoon, August 26, 2017. The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office led
by PSSUPT ALAN MOLINTAS NAZARRO – Acting Provincial Director and the 53IB
Philippine Army led by LTC VIRGILIO C HAMOS JR INF (GSC) PA – Commanding
Officer together with regional chief, Criminal Investigation and Detection
Group 9 PSSUPT ANTHONY A. ABERIN Conducted the Joint PNP-AFP Press Conference
held at ZSPPO Conference Room, Camp Abelon, Lumbia District Pagadian City. In
the occasion, The PNP-AFP issued the Official Statement on the death of
CPL Rodilo Bartolome PA “The AFP And PNP
leadership condole with the bereaved family of the late Cpl Rodilo Bartolome Of
‘Bravo’ Coy, 53IB,1ID,PA.
The AFP and PNP top officials in this province have a constant
communication with each other and assures you that it was an isolated case.
Steps were taken to prevent similar incident. Presently, the Criminal
Investigation and Detection Group 9 is handling the investigation of the case
while the AFP and PNP leadership is looking on the welfare of the bereaved
family of CPL Rodilo Bartolome. The AFP and PNP relation is very strong and will
remain partners in the fight against crime and terrorism. The regional
leadership of the AFP and PNP is asking all its personnel in the province for
sobriety and to remain calm as the investigation is on-going. Also, to the
public to avoid making speculation especially in social media. The CIDG9
assures us of an impartial investigation”. The conference was attended by different tri- media personalities of Zamboanga Peninsula.
