Rape Suspect Arrested in Zambo Sur

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga del Sur - Police operatives of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Orlyn P Leyte, Officer In-Charge, conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Sumenlad, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:30 AM on May 28, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Toriano Bitayan Y Gampong, 63 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok Sumenlad, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. 19-068, dated 12 April 2019, issued by Presiding Judge, RTC, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

He is now temporarily detained at Lapuyan MPS detention cell while waiting for commitment order from the court.

1 person was killed in Shooting Incident

TAMBULIG, Zamboanga del Sur  - One person was killed by unidentified person in Shooting incident transpired at Purok 2, Brgy Pelocuban, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:40 PM of May 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Froilan F Quidilla, PRO9 Acting Regional Director identified the victim as Rico Urot Lipalam, 40 years old, Male, Married, Utility worker at Tambulig Municipal Hall and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Pelocuban, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was shot by unidentified suspect with the used of undetermined caliber of firearm.

After the incident victim was rushed to Blancia Hospital, Molave for medical attention but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Investigation conducted revealed that the victim was sitting alone at the terrace in his mother’s house while drinking coffee therein, when suddenly an unidentified person/suspect came and shot the victim for several times and immediately fled towards the upper portion of said upland Barangay.

The victim sustained Three (3) gunshot wounds on his face and one (1) on the left portion of his back which resulted to his instantaneous death.

Tambulig Municipal Police Station is still conducting thorough investigation for possible identification and arrest of suspect/s. Motive of the incident is believed to be personal grudge.

Dead Body Found in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Dead body was found in front of the main gate of “Palasyo”, Purok Staluvilla, Sta Lucia, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Norte at about 10:00 PM of May 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Froilan F Quidilla, PRO9 Acting Regional Director said the victim was a unidentified male person, clad in black t-shirt, white maong short pants, with rubber slippers of more or less 30-40 years of age. Suspect/s is unidentified.

Investigation disclosed that the incident area was poorly lit and not frequented with nightly goers.

The victim was evidently stoned to death where the face was beyond recognition.

The stone (10-15Kls) used as an instrument of the crime was left more or less 2ft from the victim’s head. Motive of the incident was believed personal grudge out of the suspect/s hatred on his determination of killing the victim by smashing the head out of stone.

The cadaver was brought to Gamalinda funeral home and Pagadian City Police Station coordinated with City Health Office, Pagadian City for the conduct of post mortem examination.      

Pagadian City Police Station is still conducting follow investigation for the possible identification of the victim and as well as the perpetrators.

Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 1, Barangay Manggilis, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:35 PM of May 30, 2019.

The victim was as Marjun Yayung Tormis, 26 years old, married, farmer, a resident of Purok 2 Barangay Manlabay, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was drinking inside at karaoke bar, situated at Purok 1, Barangay Manggilis, Mahayag owned by Mrs. Grace Saberon when three unidentified male personalities arrived insisted to entered the video k house to buy liquor but the owner of the store refuse because she was about to close the establishment.

Thereafter commotion arises wherein one of the three persons, who was armed with undermined short caliber firearm directly pointed to the victim and shot the victim.

He sustained one entry gunshot wound at his chest and was brought to Lorenzo Tan Multi-Purpose Cooperative hospital situated at Poblacion Mahayag Zamboanga del Sur for immediate medical treatment. He was later referred to Mhars-Gen Hospital Ozamis City for further medical attention.

The unidentified suspects immediately fled towards the direction of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, after the incident. The motive of the incident is still to be determined.       

PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation on the incident.

Alleged Illegal Discharged Of Firearm

PAGADIAN CITY - An alleged illegal discharged of firearm transpired at Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:30 AM of May 31, 2019.

The incident occurred at the residence of Glory Mae Fuertes y Maquiling, 27 years old, female, single, School Teacher, located at Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Accordingly, allegedly an unidentified person fired some shots in front of their house with the used of an alleged caliber .45 pistol hitting the fence, wall, roof and bedroom of victim house.

There were five (5) gunshot holes seen at her bedroom and recovered three (3) pieces fired empty casings from an alleged caliber .45 pistol.

There were no reported injuries sustained on the occupants and neighbors at the abovementioned place.

Suspect/s was unidentified and fled to unknown direction. Empty fired cartridge casings were to be subjected for a cross matching examination at SOCO Laboratory Office situated at Camp Abelon, Zamboanga Sibugay PPO.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation for possible identity of the fleeing suspects.

Shooting Incident

Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 4, Brgy. Pulangabato, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:10 PM of May 30, 2019.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim identified as Antonio Fernandez Bendanillo, 67 years old, married, farmer and a resident of the above mentioned place was shot to death by unidentified suspect/s using 12 gauge shotgun based on two (2) pellets found in the body of above victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds on different part of his body causing his instantaneous death.

The suspect/s fled going to Brgy. Bantal, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur. The victim was walking going to his farmland to pasture his carabao and when he was about to reach the other side of the river he was shoot by unidentified suspect/s hiding on grassy part of the riverside.

According to her wife identified as Mercedez Fernandez, the victim left their residential house at about 6:00 AM of May 30, 2019 and at about 10:30 of same date she decided to follow her husband Antonio Fernandez, since the latter was not able take his breakfast, then when she arrived on the place of incident more or less ten (10) meters she saw his husband lying on rocky part of the river already dead.

Immediately she asked assistance to her relatives at Purok 2 of same Barangay.

PNP personnel of Bayog MPS are now conducting hot pursuit operation and thorough investigation for the possible identity of the suspect and to locate possible witnesses and also to determine the motive of the incident.

2 Arrested in Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation in Zambo Sibugay

DUMALINAO, Zamboanga del Sur - Operatives of Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit 9, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, Dumalinao Municipal Police Station and PDEA - Zamboanga del Sur conducted buy-bust operation at Golden Hotel, Purok Maabtikon, Barangay Paglaum, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:00 PM of May 22, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Roberto Caboverde Gaco, 30 years old, house painter, with live-in partner, and a resident of Purok Golden Shower, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay and Junie Ordineza Espania, 27 years old, single, house painter, and a resident of Brgy. Barandilia, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Confiscated from their possession and control one (1) heat sealed suspected shabu with more or less five (5) grams with estimated market value of Php 34,000.00 and drug buy bust money in the amount of Nineteen Thousand Pesos (Php19,000.00).

Subject suspect were now under the custody of PDEA- Zamboanga del Sur detention cell, while appropriate charge for violation of RA 9165 is now being prepared for filing in court.

RA 7610 Violator Held in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Police operatives of Pagadian City Police Station conducted police operation through service of arrest warrant at Purok Capitol Creek, Sto. Nino District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:00 Noon of May 22, 2019.

The operation resulted to the arrest of Edcel Lumayag Y Lumingkit, 28 years old, male, with live-in-partner, tricycle driver, and a resident of Purok Capitol Creek, Sto. Nino District, Pagadian City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of Section 10 (a) of R.A. 7610, docketed under Criminal Case No. 14383-2K19, issued on May 8, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Pagadian City.

The bail recommended for his temporary liberty is fixed at Eighty Thousand Pesos only (Php 80,000.00).

Wanted Man Nabbed in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY - Combined operatives of Pagadian City Police Station in coordination with Prosperidad Municipal Police Station, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur conducted police operation through service of arrest warrant at Barangay Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur at about 10:00 AM of May 22, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Alberto Galdiano Y Tuzo, 26 years old, male, married, driver, and a resident of Barangay Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of Section 78 of PD 705 with criminal case number 14356-2K19, issued on April 23, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Pagadian City.

The bail recommended for his temporary liberty is fixed at Seventy Two Thousand Pesos only (Php 72,000.00). Arrested suspect is now being detained at the said police station.

CAFGU member killed in Shooting Incident

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga Del Sur – A CAFGU member was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:00 PM of May 23, 2019.

The victim was identified as Winnie Poran y Yeo, 56 years old, married, male, farmer, former CAFGU member and a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was shot to death by the suspect identified as Carolino Capa, 60 years old, married, farmer, former CAFGU member and a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim sustained lone gunshot wound thru in thru at the left side of his abdomen and was brought to Margosatubig Regional Hospital for medical treatment but the attending physician refused to give a first aid because the victim was already lifeless upon arrival thereat.

Firearm used in the commission of an offense is cal.45 based on the recovered slug at the crime scene.

After the incident, the suspect escaped towards North direction heading towards Barangay Sayog, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del sur.

PNP personnel of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station conducted hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the motive is due to their misunderstanding as the victim and the suspect were both under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

The incident happened along the road in front of the house of the victim’s brother situated at Purok 3A, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur

Dead Body Found

DUMALINAO. Zamboanga del Sur - A dead body was found at Purok Camansi, Barangay Camangan, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:10 AM of May 25, 2019 particularly at the barrier of the shouldering road. 

The victim was identified as Abdullah Usman Y Anas, 40 year old, married, construction worker (Time Keeper), and a resident of Purok Tuburan, Barangay Balimbingan, Labangan, Zambonga del Sur.

He was identified thru recovered identification card from the victim’s wallet.

Initial investigation disclosed that victim sustained multiple stabbed and hacked wounds on his chest and different parts of his body that resulted to his instantaneous death based on the ocular examination conducted by Provincial Crime Lab Officer and MHO officer Dr. Patrick Kian Tolido.

PNP personnel of Dumalinao Municipal Police Station conducted thorough investigation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the suspects.

3 Dead as Mining Hole Collapsed in Zambo Sur

DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur  - A mining hole of about 30 feet deep collapsed at Mango Street Barangay San Pedro, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:45 PM of May 24, 2019.

The person of Emmanuel Sarabia 26 years old, with lived in partner and a resident of Purok 1 Barangay San Pedro Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur was allegedly trapped inside.

Accordingly, Emmanuel Sarabia was excavated the land of Edwin Poresores located at Mango St. Barangay San Pedro Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:30 PM of May 24, 2019 when suddenly a huge split of land fell unto him in beneath that fitted to close the passage of the hole and unable him to recover upward.

One of his companions identified as Edwin Poresores, 26 years old, of same place exerted effort to recover the victim but he failed.

Meanwhile, at about 5:00 PM of May 24, 2019, a backhoe arrived intended to be utilized for retrieval operation and therein three (3) persons identified as:

Edwin Paran Jr., 22 years old,

Junifer Narido, 28 years old and

Lloyd Baylon, 21 years, all residents of said place tried to rescue the victim by going down the hole.

However, a huge split of land fell unto them that resulted them to buried of almost twenty (20) minutes which resulted to the death of Edwin Paran and Lloyd Baylon.

The other rescuer identified as Junifer Narido survived and was brought to Ozamis Hospital for immediate medication.

 Meanwhile, at about 11:30 PM of May 24, 2019 the body of Emmanuel Sarabia was found and retrieved lifeless.

Shooting Incident

PAGADIAN CITY - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Sweet honey, Barangay Sta. Maria, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:27 PM of May 25, 2019.

The victim was identified as Caloy Miano, 33 years old, male, construction worker, and a resident of Purok Lansones, Tuburan, Pagadian City. He was found lying lifeless and sustained several gunshot wounds on his body.

Investigation disclosed that around 10:24 PM of same date, two (2) successive gun burst was heard by the above-mentioned reporting person, and later found out that said victim was found lying lifeless on the side of the road and sustained gunshot wounds on his body believed to be shot by unidentified suspect/s.

The victim was wearing blue T-shirt, black short pants, and blue baseball cap. Responding PNP personnel of Provincial Crime Laboratory Office/ SOCO conducted crime scene processing and recovered two (2) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45 pistol and two (2) live ammunitions of same caliber from the crime scene.

The cadaver now lies at Gamalinda Funeral Homes situated at National Highway Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspect/s.

Lightning Incident

TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur - Lightning incident occurred at Purok Quarry Barangay Abong-abong, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:15 AM of May 26, 2019.

The victim was identified as Roger Guillena Jr y Harden, 16 years old, grade 8 students and a resident of Purok Quarry, Barangay Abong-abong, Tabina, Zamboanga del sur. 

Investigation conducted disclosed that at about 5:30 AM of the same day, the victim went alone to Barangay Poblacion, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur to buy a spare part for their pump boat and boarded on a paddled banca of their neighbor. At about 7:15 AM, the person of Ronilo Ocang saw a banca heading towards Purok Quarry when lighting suddenly struck and the person boarded in the said banca fell.

Immediately, he informed other fishermen/concern citizens on their area and search was conducted, wherein at about 8:05 AM, the body of Roger Guillena Jr y Harden was found and was immediately brought to their house.

CPR and other revival processes were conducted but to no avail. The attending medical personnel of Tabina Rural Health Unit declared the victim dead.

May 12-17, 2019 Reported Incidents from the municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur

Shooting Incident

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired along the National Highway Purok 3, Upper Nilo, Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:35 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Rudy Dalaoyan, 48 years old, married, construction worker, resident of Barangay Baloyboan, Pagadian City.

Accordingly, the victim was walking on his way home, after having a drinking session at Barangay Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur and upon reaching at the said place, he was shot by unidentified suspect using undetermined type of firearm.

The victim sustain lone gunshot wound at his head and was brought to Provincial Hospital, Dao, Pagadian City. The suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident.

PNP personnel of Tigbao Municipal Police Station is conducting follow up investigation on the incident.

Man Held in Pagadian City for Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban

PAGADIAN CITY - Police personnel of Zamboanga del Sur - Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Lt. Colonel Parson Asadil and Pagadian City Police Station led by Police Captain Renante B Benitez have arrested a 45-year old man Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban in a joint patrol operation at Barangay Lison Valley, Pagadian City transpired at about 11:30 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the suspect as Richard Arsonillo Jabello, 45 years old, male, Filipino, married, farmer, and a resident of Purok Caimito, Lison Valley, Pagadian City.

Initial investigation disclosed that while the PNP personnel were having a patrol within the area of Barangay Lison Valley upon report received of the presence of armed men sighted in the area.

That upon reaching at Purok Caimito, the suspect was seen having something bulging on his waist which resembles like a firearm and upon verification patrolling team confiscated one (1) Unit Caliber .45 Pistol with S.N. 164329 (Colt MK IV Series 80) with one (1) Magazine inserted loaded with Nine (9) live ammunitions of same caliber.

The suspect failed to present any pertinent and/or valid documents to support in possession of the said firearm.

Thus, the suspect violated R.A. 10591, and COMELEC Gun Ban who was placed on arrest after being apprised of his rights under Miranda Doctrine and was temporarily held in protective custody of Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition.

Farmer Held in Zambo Sur for Violation of R.A. 10591

TUKURAN, Zamboanga del sur - Combined elements of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army led by 2nd Lieutenant Alvin Ibarra in coordination with Tukuran Municipal Police Station and COMELEC have arrested a violator of R.A. 10591 during random COMELEC checkpoint at Purok 4 Barangay Navalan Tukuran Zamboanga Del Sur about 11:15 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the arrested person as Ranier Ponteras Y Colita, 53 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 4 Barangay Sambulawan, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.

Accordingly, the suspect was onboard on single motorcycle and was flagged down for inspection.

During the said inspection the suspect admitted that he was carrying an unlicensed firearm concealed on his waist which leads to the conduct of bodily search by operating troops of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army.

Confiscated from the possession and control of the suspect one unit caliber .45 pistol Colt with serial no. 782556, one (1) magazine with (7) live ammunition and one hunting knife.

The suspect is now under the custody of Tukuran Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

7 Arrested for Violation of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor Ban”) 

PAGADIAN CITY - At least seven (7) individuals were apprehended PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station for Violation of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor Ban”) at Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City and Purok Madasigon, Bulatok, Pagadian City at about 5:00 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the arrested the following suspects as:

Ramir Jabajab Pantilgan, 36 years old, married of Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City;

Dominador Gumansing Ocay, 39 years old, of Purok Mahigalaon, Bulatok, Pagadian City;

Gedion Macarate Elesterio, 53 years old; Randy Lasparilla Macula, 21 years old;

Joel Elio Paris, 36 years old;

Roy Stanley Elesterio Lasparilla, 38 years old, and

Marlon Tantan Dinopol, 39 years old, all residents of Purok Madasigon, Bulatok, Pagadian City.

The arrested suspects were caught in the act drinking liquor while the police elements of Pagadian City Police conducted roving patrol at the above-mentioned place.

They violated the Resolution No. 10461 of the Omnibus Election Code (“Liquor ban”) and were all placed under arrest after being apprised of their rights under Miranda Doctrine and were temporarily held in protective custody of Pagadian City Police Station.

2 Held in Zambo Sur for Violation of RA 10591 COMELEC Gun Ban

SAN MIGUEL, Zamboanga del Sur -  Two individuals were arrested for Violation of RA 10591 COMELEC Gun Ban at Purok 2, Barangay Mati, San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur about 1:05 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the suspects as Guillermo Pobadora Y Abila, 44 years old, male, married, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mati, San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur.

Confiscated from him was one (1) unit KG9 Cal.45 light weapon, bearing serial number 784375 loaded with twenty (20) pieces live ammunitions of Cal .45. pistol and Abdulmanan Maulana Y Guiaman, 42 years old, male, married, a resident of Purok Padaw, Sitio Quarry, Barangay Benuatan, Dinas Zamboanga del Sur.

Confiscated from him was one (1) unit Caliber 45 pistol, bearing Serial Number AOC41924, loaded with five (5) live ammunitions.

Accordingly, the two suspects were among the armed supporters of unknown candidate allegedly harassing at Purok 2, Barangay Mati, San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur.

Some of the armed supporters fled from the area when the responding PNP Quick reaction force (QRF) of San Miguel Municipal Police Station arrived at the area. Accordingly, suspects were allegedly on board with a Mazda vehicle, color green, bearing plate number WQG137 driven by suspect Guillermo Pobadora Y Abila when being held by the responding police elements. Suspects were brought to San Miguel Municipal Police Station, San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur for proper disposition

Carpenter Held for the Crime of Frustrated Murder

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Sur - PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police Station conducted police operation (service of arrest warrant) at Purok 1, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:30 AM of May 13, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director  said the operation resulted to the arrest of Brando Gonzagon Y Macasalong, 36 years old, male, married, carpenter, and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Frustrated Murder, docketed under criminal case number 2018-10-3597, issued by Hon. Jaime B Caberte, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with bail bond recommended fixed at (Php200,000.00).

Subject person is now temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS detention cell while waiting for commitment order from the court.

Shooting Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Bayabas, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:40 AM of May 13, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Marcelo Amaro y Flores, 61 years old, male, farmer and a resident of Purok Rubia, Brgy. Bayabas, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was shot by his neighbor identified as Julibe Ruiles y Quiño, legal age. The victim sustained gunshot wound on his feet and was brought to Aurora Community Emergency hospital located at Brgy, Cabilinan, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur for medication.

PNP personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow up investigation on the incident.

Alleged Ambushed Incident

DINAS, Zamboanga cdel Sur - An alleged ambushed transpired at Purok Tula Tula, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:30 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victims as Totoy Pendaton Marcaban,37 years old, married a Sanguniang Bayan Candidate of Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, Barangay Councilor Abdulgani Paragunan Esmael, 54 years old, married and Hassim Dilagan Esmael, 54 years old, also married all resident of Purok Esmael, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victims allegedly ambushed by unidentified armed men at Purok Tula tula, Barangay Tarakan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur while they were travelling along the Barangay road heading towards Barangay Taraka, Dinas.

Investigation disclosed that the driver identified as Totoy Pendaton Marcaban before the incident he saw a male personality tailed them at the road but when he was hit by the flash of the light he suddenly jumps into the grassy area of said place, there and then a burst of gunfire followed hitting into the different part of the Car and subsequently after the incident suspects fled away to Sitio Baka, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, Joint of PNP personnel of Dinas Municipal Police Station and 53rd Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army conducted hot pursuit operation for the possibly arrest of the suspects but yielded negative result. Motive of the incident was still to be determined.

Shooting Incident

BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Purok 4, Brgy. Damit, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur about 2:30 PM of May 12, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Bryan Dalion Bacang, 28 years old, married, Provincial Coordinator and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Damit, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur. He was shot by certain Jun Matias using Cal 45 pistol.

Accordingly, Bryan Dalion Bacang came from his residence at Purok 1 of Brgy. Damit of Bayog Municipality driving his single MC going to Purok 7 of same Barangay particularly at Servillon residence.

Upon reaching at Purok 6, he was waylaid by two (2) Pick-up trucks, color black and silver both with no plate number.

The victim was cornered by the two (2) pick-up trucks at Purok 4 of Brgy. Damit.

Immediately thereafter the victim dropped his driven single mc and ran, however, certain Jun Matias stepped out from the black pick-up truck and fire his gun against Bacang.

The victim Bryan Dalion Bacang met Casimero Repoledon Enodio and was told to hide at the house of Rodrigo Africa.

Bacang was able to hide but unfortunately Casimero Repoledon Enodio was shot by certain Jaolani Hassim.

As a result the victim Bryan Dalion Bacang was not injured while Casimero Repoledon Enodio sustained one (1) alleged gunshot wound on his right cheek and was immediately brought to Bayog Rural Health Unit for first aid and both suspects fled towards Brgy. Sampoli, Municipality of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Recovered from the crime scene were one fired cartridge case and one (1) live ammunition. One (1) Casimero Repoledon Enodio, 63 years old, married, farmer and also a resident of Purok 2 of the above-mentioned barangay was allegedly shot by certain Jaolani Hassim using unknown caliber of firearm.

PNP personnel of Bayog Municipal Police Station is now conducting hot pursuit operation and also conducted thorough investigation to determine the possible motive of the incident.

Explosion and Conflagration Incident

SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur - Conflagration and explosion incident occurred at San Pablo Central Elementary School, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:10 PM of May 15, 2019.

PNP personnel of San Pablo Municipal Police Station led by Police Capt. Herminigildo P Bajao Jr, Officer In-Charge, immediately responded to said place and conducted investigation.

Initial investigation disclosed that at about 11:10 PM of same date, an explosion incident transpired at Purok Maloloy-on, Barangay Poblacion, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur particularly near the Bureau of Fire Protection Station, followed by conflagration at San Pablo Central Elementary school building particularly at the back portion of the Grade 6 room were malfunction/defective Voting Counting Machines (VCM) and election paraphernalia were kept/place.

Personnel of San Pablo Fire Station immediately responded and able to suppressed the fire and declared fire out around 11:20 PM of same date.

However, one (1) VCM was burn out of eight (8) VCMs that were deposited in the said holding room. Seven (7) VCMs were immediately secured by responding policemen.

Further investigation revealed that the cause of fire was deliberately set with the use of gasoline based on the investigation conducted by the member of the Bureau of Fire Protection.

While the explosion was due to the detonation of one fragmentation

Shooting Incident

V. SAGUN, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Sampaloc, Barangay Lumbal, Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:10 PM of May 16, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Edgar Serbito y Lumbot, 37 years old, married, driver and a resident of said barangay.

He was shot by unidentified person with the used of unknown firearm. The victim sustained gunshot wound on the back portion of his body and was immediately brought to Margosatubig Regional Hospital, Poblacion Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur for medical treatment.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was driving his single motorcycle from Barangay Kabatan Vincenzo Sagun and about to park in front of his house when he was shot by unidentified assailant.

PNP personnel of Vincenzo Sagun Municipal Police Station is still conducting thorough investigation relative on this case and its motive of the suspect.

Motor Vehicle Traffic Accident

PAGADIAN CITY - Motor vehicle traffic accident transpired at Purok Saling-sing, Balintawak Road Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:10 PM of May 16, 2019.

Initial investigation report disclosed one Kawasaki Barako 175 with plate JK-8730 and cab no.1812 registered and driven by Rogelio Ebedentes Anggot, 64 years old and resident of Purok Matinabangon,Gubac, Pagadian City with three passenger on board identified as Luzviminda Amoc y Andes, female, 62, Christian Jake Brigola, 9 and John Rey Andog.

The vehicle while on the way travelling along Balintawak road fall into ravine.

Both driver and passenger immediately brought to Jameliarin Hospital, Balangasan, Pagadian City for medical treatment but the driver was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Indiscriminate Firing

DIMATALING, Zamboanga del Sur - Burst of gunfire transpired at Purok 5, Brgy Kagawasan, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:00 PM of May 16, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the bursts of gun fire were perpetrated by more or less six (6) unidentified male persons hitting one of the Electric Transformer at the above-mentioned place.

Accordingly, the suspects who were wearing masks positioned themselves at the corner of the municipal canteen before shooting the electric transformer and withdrew towards Brgy Sugbay Uno Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from the scene were twenty-three (23) fired cartridge shells and two live ammos of 5.56mm; three live ammos and two fired cartridge shells of M1 Garand Rifle with clip; and one left pair of a white shoe. No one was hurt during the incident.
