2 Inmates Escaped at Ramon Magsaysay District Jail,

RAMON MAGSAYSAY, ZamboSur (June 29, 2018) – Two inmates were able to manage to escaped from detention of Ramon Magsaysay District Jail, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur on June 28, 2018 at about 6:00 AM.

The two inmates were identified namely as Danilo Dumandos Y Alimod, 45, farmer and Nestor Dumandos Y Alimod, 27, married, farmer, both residing at Brgy. Balukbahan, Bayog, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that while the said inmates taking a bath and washing their clothes, they took the opportunity to escape. The two inmates climbed the fence of the laundry area and passing through the two-story building of Ramon Magsaysay District Jail that is under construction wherein the scaffolding besides the building were used by the two inmates to jump over the 10-feet detention wall and fled towards Brgy. Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Both escapees were charged for a crime of murder docketed under case number 16-10, 1302, RTC Branch 30 Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Ramon Magsaysay MPS is continue conducting dragnet operation for possible apprehension of the two fugitives.

Suspect Surrendered for Hacking his brother

TIGBAO, ZamboSur (June 29, 2018) –  The Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Longmot, Tigbao municipality of this province turn-over to Tigbao MPS the person as suspect of hacking incident on June 27, 2018 at about 4:00 PM.

Police identified person as Ronel Estrael Nano, 29 years old, single, farmer and a resident of Purok Paglaum, Barangay Guilin, Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur.

The said person is the suspect of killing his elder brother identified as Jimboy Estrael Nano, 33 years old, single, farmer and resident of Purok Paglaum, Barangay Guinlin, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Said suspect was voluntary surrendered to Francisco P. Actoy at about 2:00pm of June 27, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that on or about 2:00pm of June 26, 2018, suspect killed his elder brother at their forested house situated at Purok Paglaum, Guinlin, Tigbao, when the victim quarreled with his father and about to hack it and when the suspect arrived therein, then and there, he immediately pacified the commotion.

However, the victim Jimboy was then facing to the suspect Ronel and they were grappling each other and luckily said suspect was able to disarmed the victim, accordingly the victim’s bolo was used by the suspect in the killing and a piece of wood by hitting the head of the victim several times that resulted to his instantaneous death.

Further disclosed the victim was already buried by the suspect at the forested area of Purok Paglaum, barangay Guinlin, Tigbao, Zamboanga del sur. Motive of the incident is misunderstanding.

June 25, 2018 - NEWS RELEASE on the Reported Incidents

4 injured in road mishap  involvinh 4-vehicles

RAMON Magsaysay, ZamboSur (June 28, 2019) – Four were injured including 8-year old child in vehicular accident involving four vehicles, the Vehicle Accident transpired along the steep grade portion of the National Highway of Purok 2, Barangay Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur On about 5:50 PM of June 26, 2018.

Investigator on case PO2 Richie V Cuadra said that the PNP team of Ramon Magsaysay MPS proceeded immediately to the reported place of incident to verify and to conduct ocular investigation.

Upon arrival thereat, the responding team found out that there were four vehicles involved in the accident:

a. MV No.1 - Isuzu Forward bearing Plate No. ACO 7511, driven by one Lambo, Alejandro Bulitic, 60 y/o, male, married, a resident of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur,

b. MV No.2 - Fuso Wing Van Truck bearing Plate No. 102001, driven by Gabor, Reymark Oliverio, 25 years old, male, single, a resident of Brgy. Malipayon, Pangantucan, Bukidnon,

c. MV No.3 - Tricycle (motorcycle with cab) Honda TMX Supremo bearing Plate No. 6793 OZ, driven by one Sarabia, Jovane Arcilla, 24 years old, single and a Post Office employee of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. He has two passengers Estelita Bermejo Tauto-an, 53, female, married, Post Office employee of Molave and Ramon Magsaysay, both Municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur and her grandchild an 8 year old female student and

d. MV No.4 – Huwo Dump truck bearing Plate No.AAY3272, driven by one Virador, Ronel y Cornedo, 24, male, single, a resident of P1, Brgy. Gapasan, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that, while MV No.1 Isuzu Forward was traversing from Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur bound for Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur loaded with 100 sacks of Tiki-Tiki (pulverized rice casing) and upon reaching at the steep grade portion of the National Highway, vicinity of Purok 2, Brgy. Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur it accidentally encountered a mechanical failure commonly called loss brake, the investigator said.

As a result, MV No.1 sideswipes the left side portion of MV No.2 Fuso Wing Van Truck that was traversing in opposite direction from Molave, ZDS destined for Zamboanga City causing damage in the left side portion of its body to include the exploded two left rear wheels, he added.

While MV No.1 is on the process, it also hit MV No.3 Tricycle (motorcycle with cab) Honda TMX Supremo that was in front (traversing in same direction) from Brgy. Poblacion, RM, ZDS destined for Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur causing scratches in the different areas of the aforementioned tricycle that almost fell on the deep drainage, he said.

Then lastly, it hits MV No.4 Huwo Dump truck that was also traversing in opposite direction causing severe damage in its front portion, he said. 

Further, the driver of MV No.1 sustained a right leg fracture while the driver of MV No.3 together with its passengers sustained head injuries, PO2 Cuadra also said.

All were immediately brought to Blancia Hospital, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for medical treatment. 

Drug Suspect Busted in Pagadian

PAGADIAN CITY (June 26, 2018) - City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Pagadian City Police Station arrested one person involved in illegal drugs during the conduct of anti-illegal drug buy bust operation at Purok Bougainvillea, Barangay San Pedro Pagadian City on June 24, 2018 at about 7:00pm.

Police identified the arrested as Vincidor Bulahan Adonis, 33 years old, married, and resident of Purok Bougainvillea, Barangay San Pedro Pagadian City.

Confiscated from his possession and control are the following: One piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or locally known as “shabu”, as buy-bust item and Five pieces of one hundred peso (Php100) bills as marked money. 

The Confiscated items are now under the custody of Pagadian CPS and to be turn-over to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) for qualitative examination.

Subject person is now temporary detained at Pagadian CPS detention cell, while appropriate case for violation of RA 9165 known as “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” is being prepared for filing in court.

Man Arrested in V-Sagun for Killing his Drinking Buddy

V.SAGUN, ZamboSur (June 26, 2018) – A man was arrested by PNP elements of Vincenzo Sagun MPS for killing his drinking buddy, the incident transpired at Purok Bituon, Brgy. Danan, Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 11:45 PM of June 24, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 10:40 PM of the same date, the victim identified as Criscencio Navarro, 58 years old, married, farmer by occupation and resident of same place was mauled and struck with a hard object in his head and body which resulted to his deat.

Police identified the suspect as certain Jonas Asuncion, 38 years old, single, jobless and resident of same place.

Further investigation conducted that before the incident, at the house of the victim, they were having a drinking session together with some neighbors. Later, the victim and suspect had an intense argument when the victim told the suspect to stop drinking because he is already drunk which made the suspect get angry and challenged the victim to a fight outside the victim’s house.

Suspect then get a hardwood and struck the victim’s head several times until the victim fall down to the ground unconscious, not contented, the suspect got a stone and smashed it to the victim’s head.

The CVOs and other neighbors intervene but the suspect resisted reason for them to tie the hands of the suspect. The other concerned neighbors immediately rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for medical attention but while on their way, the wife and daughter noticed and believed that the victim was already dead and insisted to go back, reason for them not to proceed to the hospital.

June 22, 2018 - NEWS RELEASE on the Reported Incident

3 injured in road mishap

DUMALINAO, ZamboSur  (June 26, 2018) – Three injured in motorcycle collision transpired along the National Highway of Purok Malipayon, Barangay Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:57 in the morning of June 25, 2018.

PO2 Keene James T Jayme, Investigator on case said that the accident involving two motorcycles:

MC-1 - single motorcycle Suzuki, blue/white with plate number JA 11231 driven by Lamberto Dinsay Duenas, 65 years old, married, a resident of West Capitol Road, Pagadian City with active PDL JO3-76-005116 and

MC-2 - single motorcycle XR 200 red, no plate number driven by Osias Lim San Opod, 52 years old, married and with his back rider Virgenia Villabito Vaselisco, 59 years old both resident of Purok 1, Baguitan Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial Investigation conducted by Dumalinao MPS disclosed that both vehicle were traversing from Poblacion Dumalinao bound to Pagadian City. Upon reaching at Purok Malipayon, Barangay Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur allegedly MC-1 Suzuki Raider suddenly attempt to turned left but unnoticed its signal by the incoming MC-2 single XR 200 from its behind causing the MC-1 meet into contact.

PO2 Jayme added that both drivers and passenger sustained physical injury to different parts of their body and was immediately brought to Dumalinao Health Center for medication while both driven single MC incurred damages and was brought to Dumalinao MPs for proper disposition.

   

Old woman died after being hit by motorcycle

DINAS, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) – Old woman was died after being hit by a motorcycle in a vehicular traffic accident transpired along the road of Brgy. Don Jose Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 4:30 PM of June 23, 2018.

The PNP personnel of Dinas MPS immediately responded and proceeded to aforesaid place of incident to verify the said report.

Police said Single Motor Rusi 100 with no plate, color black driven by certain Mark Geholos Siarez, 20 years of age, male, single, unemployed and a resident of Brgy. Lower Dimaya, Dinas was accidentally bump the old woman.

The victim identified by the responding police as Monera Salipphada 80 years of age female, married, unemployed and a resident of Brgy. Don Jose Purok Avocado, Dinas.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the Single Motor was coming from Poblacion, Dinas, bound to Brgy. Lower Dimaya, upon reaching Brgy. Don Jose road, driver noticed an old woman who hesitate walking to cross the road and because of too much speed the driver went out of control and hit the old woman which resulted to multiple fractured and serious physical injuries.

The victim immediately brought to Chavez Medical Clinic for possible treatment and after few minutes the families of the victim decided to transfer her to Pagadian City Provincial Hospital for better treatment and upon arrival the victim was declared dead by the attending physician.

Subject person is now temporally detained at Dinas MPS Detention Cell with the case of Reckless Imprudence resulted to Homicide is being prepared for filing in court.

Motorcycle driver was over-run by passenger van

DUMALINAO, ZamboSur (June 25, 2018) – A Motorcycle driver was over-run by the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) passenger van, the accident was transpired along National Highway of Purok Luy-a, Barangay Sebucao, Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 4:25 PM of June 23, 2018.

The PNP personnel of Dumalinao MPS immediately proceeded to the said place of incident and found out one single Motorcycle and a person lying on the road. 

Investigation conducted disclosed that the said single motorcycle coming from Pagadian City bound to Tabina, driven by Francisco Sabroso Y Gongob, legal age, resident of Purok Arbor, Malim, Tabina, Security by occupation and equipped with PDL # JO3-18-001911.

That upon reaching the place of incident the driver caught by surprise by an on-park ten wheeler dump truck that resulted to a self-accident thereby causing the driver separated by his driven single motorcycle.

However, a PUB Hyundai passenger van on his behind coming from Pagadian City bound to Margos evaded contact from the single MC but unfortunately failed to notice the driver of the single motorcycle lying on the road resulting to over-run him. The PUB color red with plate # JBW-205 driven by Jimmy Laringgo Simbulas, Legal age a resident of Barangay Calian, Margosatubig.

The victim immediately brought to Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Hospital thru Municipal Ambulance for Immediate medical attention while the PU vehicle and the driver of the Hyundai Van were brought to Dumalinao MPS for proper disposition.

Jobless Arrested for illegal Drugs

AURORA, ZamboSur (June 25, 2018) - PNP elements of Aurora MPS and Zamboanga Del Sur PPO arrested one person involved in illegal drugs during the conduct of joint Drug buy-bust operation at Purok Angela, Brgy San Jose, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:40 PM of June 23, 2018.

Police identified the arrested person as Cloyd Ceniza Y Quiño aka “Pokloy”, 37 years old, single with live-in partner, jobless and a resident at Purok Anahaw, Brgy. Poblacion, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operating trrops confiscated from the possession and control of the suspect are the following:

One piece of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (buy bust) and

One piece of five hundred (500.00) peso bill.

Aurora MPS are readying cases for Violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 for filing in court against the suspect.

Widow Held for Violation of RA 3019

DUMALINAO, ZamboSur (June 25, 2018) - PNP personnel of Dumalinao MPS arrested a widow during the conduct of police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at about 1:30 PM of June 23, 2018 at Purok Maabtikon, Barangay Paglaum, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Police identified the arrested person as Ananie C Raluto, 62 years old, widow and a resident Purok Maabtikon, Barangay Paglaum, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Romeo T. Descallar of RTC, Branch 19, Pagadian City for Violation of Sec. 3 (e) R.A.  3019, as amended (OMB-C-C-11-0816-L) docketed under criminal case no. 13876-2k18 with a bail recommended of Thirty Thousand Pesos (30,000.00) for her temporary liberty.

The accused is now temporary detained at Dumalinao MPS detention cell awaiting for court disposition.

A female Shot to death in Aurora

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) – A female was shot to death by unidentified person, the Shooting incident transpired at Purok Jaso, Barangay Monte Alegre, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:30 PM of June 24, 2018.

Investigator on-case PO2 Marjuhn L Labiaga identified the victim as Luz Yabo y Taghap, 61 years old, married, housewife, and resident of the above-mentioned place, she was shot to death by an unidentified suspect using undetermined caliber of firearm.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim was shot to death by unidentified male person/s outside the residence of Marfelina Sumampong y Yabo, the victim’s sister-in-law.

Right after the incident, suspect/s on board a red XRM single motorcycle proceeded towards the direction of crossing Monte Alegre, Aurora, PO2 Labiaga said.

He said, the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of her body which resulted to her untimely death.

Reponding police recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of Cal .45 pistol and one fired bullet. Motive of the incident is still to be determined.

Aurora MPS is still conducting a thorough investigation for possible identification of the suspects and to determine the motive of the incident.

Man shot to death in Molave

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) – One person was shot to death by unidentified person on June 23, 2018 at about 10:50am, shooting incident transpired at Purok Guapa, Bliss Area, Barangay Culo, Molave, of this province.

SPO2 Reynaldo D Hilot, Investigator on case said, responding police identified the victim as Jonathan Sacasan Y Yunting, 33 years old, single, and resident of Ramon Magsaysay Municipality of this province and temporary residing at Barangay Culo, Molave.

He was found lying lifeless in the ground and sustained gunshot wounds on his head and face, SPO2 Hilot said.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was walking along the alley going to his boarding house of the abovementioned place of incident and waylaid by an unidentified suspect.

SPO2 Hilot added that when the victim arrived at his boarding house of said place and about to open his room, suddenly an unidentified suspect shot the victim without any apparent reason that resulted to his instantaneous death.

Further investigation disclosed that the spouse/owner of said boarding house allegedly heard two gun burst and discovered the victim lying lifeless on the ground.

The suspect fled towards undetermined direction after the incident, while PNP personnel of Molave MPS responded and conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspect, investrigator on case also said.

Based on the initial investigation conducted, the motive of the incident believed to be personal grudge.

Evidence recovered at the crime scene was one fired cartridge case of caliber 45 pistol that will be turn-over to PCLO for ballistic examination, he said.

Senior Citizen died in Drowning

PITOGO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - On June 24, 2018 at about 2:30 PM, a drowning incident transpired at Talaungan Beach, Sitio Talaungan, Barangay Panubigan, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigator on case PO1 Roland Partoza Lubguban identified the victim as Teofilo Meñoza, 89 years old, fisherman, married, and resident of Purok Camya Tambid, Barangay Tongao, Pitogo, of this province.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was having family bonding at the Talaungan Beach in relation to the celebration of Saint John Day.

While the victim swimming at said beach, he was found lying unconscious at the sea/Talaungan Beach by her daughter.

He was immediately brought to Rural Health Unit of Pitogo Municipality but was declared dead on arrival.

Further investigation disclosed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest and was accidentally drowned that resulted to his instantaneous death. Progress report follows.

Php100K of property razed by Fire in Tambulig

TAMBULIG, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - Fire incident transpired at Purok 7, Barangay Calolot, Tambulig of this province on June 24, 2018 at about 3:30pm.

The copra dryer and bodega house made of semi-concrete and light materials owned by certain Robert Cabilida Y Mondido, legal age, and resident of said place was razed to ground by fire.

Investigation conducted disclosed that the cause of fire was the unattended burning of firewood in said copra dryer. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The estimated cost of damaged amounting to more or less one hundred thousand pesos (Php100, 000, 00).

Homicide Suspect Arrested in San Pablo

SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 25, 2018) - PNP personnel of San Pablo MPS arrested wanted person during the conduct of police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 2, Barangay Daplayan, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur on June 24, 2018 at about 5:45pm.

The police identified the arrested person as Deodemo Jupelo Y Jamisola, 47 years old, married, male, and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Daplayan, San Pablo of this province.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Homicide, docketed under Criminal Case no. 9923-2k10, issued by Hon. Rolando L Goan, Acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Pagadian City with bail bond recommended of forty thousand pesos (PHP 40,000.00).

Subject person is now temporary detained at San Pablo MPS detention cell awaiting court disposition.
