Shooting Incident
SOMINOT - Shooting incident occurred along the
Provincial road of Barangay Barubuhan, Sominot, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:30
in the evening of January 17, 2017. The victim was identified as SPO4 Nestor
Ompad Cabatingan, MESPO of Midsalip MPS, 47 years old and a resident of Purok
San Vicente, Barangay Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. He was shot by two
(2) unidentified suspects along the Provincial road of Barangay Barubuhan,
Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur. The victim was able to retaliate and fired four (4)
times against the suspects that caused the suspects to fled-away on board on a
blue XRM Single MC. Victim sustained gunshot wound on his left leg and rushed
to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital for medical treatment. The responding team
recovered four (4) fired cartridge case of caliber 9mm and one (1) deformed
slug of cal. 45. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined. Sominot MPS
personnel are now conducting thorough investigation for the possible
identification and arrest of suspects.
