Shootout Incident
MIDSALIP - Shootout incident occurred at about
12:15 PM of November 23, 2016, wherein according to the text message received
by Midsalip MPS from a concerned citizen that there were two (2) unidentified
persons on board a single motorcycle XRM 125, red-white color combination and
with no plate attached roaming around at Purok 6, Barangay Bacahan, Midsalip,
Zamboanga del Sur. The two (2) unidentified persons were directed to stop by operatives
of Midsalip MPS but refused to do so, then suddenly the back rider drew his
caliber .357 and shot the responding policemen. Unfortunately, the two (2)
police officers managed to drew their issued caliber firearms and shot the
suspects hitting the back rider which resulted to his untimely death but the
driver managed to escape and fled towards Barangay Dumalinao, Midsalip,
Zamboanga del Sur on board a single motorcycle XRM 125, red-white color
combination and with no plate attached. Initial investigation conducted by
Midsalip MPS disclosed that the deceased suspect was later identified as
Cromwell Astillero Chiong, 33 years old, and a resident of Ramon Magsaysay,
Zamboanga del Sur. Recovered from the crime scene are one (1) cal. 357 without
Serial Number, four (4) live ammunition, one (1) empty shell of cal. 357 and
two (2) empty shell of .9mm. The Midsalip
MPS personnel are now conducting hot pursuit and dragnet operation for the
possible apprehension of the driver. Investigator-on-case is PO3 Julie

Arrest of Wanted Person
AURORA - A 38-year
old driver was arrested in Purok Magdadaro, Barangay Monte Alegre, Aurora,
Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 AM of November 23, 2016. The Aurora MPS identified
the arrested man as Greg Saavedra Y Resaba, 31 years old, single, driver by
occupation and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Poblacion B, Midsalip, Zamboanga
del Sur. This is by virtue of a warrant of arrest for Violation of RA 7610,
docketed under Criminal Case Number 16-10, 1373, issued by Hon. Analyn F.
Ramas-Costanilla, Presiding Judge of RTC9, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga Del
Sur. The recommended bail bond for his temporary liberty is Eighty Thousand
Pesos (Php80, 000.00). Accused is now temporarily detained at Aurora MPS
lock-up cell while waiting commitment order from the court.
Arrest of Wanted Person
LABANGAN - Operatives
of Labangan MPS conducted manhunt operation at Purok Gundaway, Tawagan Norte,
Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:16 AM of November 23, 2016. This resulted
to the arrest of one Amancio Alayon y Dumaguing, 25, and a resident of the same
place. Suspect has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of Slight
Physical Injuries docketed under Criminal Case Number 17391, issued by Hon.
Joel G. Vercide, Presiding Judge of MTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Pagadian
City. The recommended bail bond for his temporary liberty is Php5, 000.00. He is
now temporarily detained at Labangan MPS lock-up cell while waiting commitment
order from the court.
Arrest of High Value Target on Illegal Drugs Personalities (City Level)
PAGADIAN CITY - The
Anti-illegal drugs operatives of Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operation
Task Group (PAIDSOTG) led by Police Chief Inspector Rommel Gabriel Etbew,
PAIDSOTG Action PCO and elements of Pagadian City Police Station conducted a
joint drug buy-bust operation at Zone 3, Muricay, Pagadian City at around 8:45
AM of November 23, 2016. This resulted to the arrest of one Naira Baradzar Y
Mala (Top 4, HVT of Pagadian City), 44 years old, married, and a resident of
Zone 3, Muricay, Pagadian City. Said suspect was arrested when agreed to sell
to a police officer who posed as buyer of one (1) piece small heat-sealed
transparent sachet of “Shabu” in exchange of Two Hundred Pesos (Php200.00).
Further, confiscated from the possession and control of the suspect are the
following: two (2) pieces small heat sealed transparent sachet containing white
crystalline substance believed to be “Shabu”; two (2) pieces small aluminum
foils and the two (2) pieces One hundred Peso bills (Php100.00) marked money,
with serial numbers U304422 and QM534321. Cases for violation of Sec 5 and 11,
Art II of R.A. 9165 are now being prepared for filing in court.
