PRESS RELEASE
STABBING INCIDENT IN PAGADIAN CITY

On or about 2:50 in the afternoon of December 30, 2014, Pagadian City Police Station received a radio call from a concerned citizen informing that a shooting incident transpired at Urro Street, Barangay Sto. Ñino, Pagadian City particularly near of Mormons Church wherein the victim identified as one Russel Labiaga Y Tibudan, 35 years old, male, married, a kagawad of Barangay Gatas, Pagadian City and a resident of the same place. Immediately, PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station led by PInsp Harry Ratunil Velez proceeded to the abovementioned place to conduct inspection/investigation with the coordination of SOCO team based at Camp Abelon, Barangay Lumbia, Pagadian City who later process the crime scene. initial investigation disclosed that the shooting incident transpired on or about 2:40 in the afternoon of same date wherein the victim on board his single motorcycle Honda xrm 125 bearing plate nr 9375 JK, black/ combination upon reaching at said place of the incident. the victim parked his driven single motorcycle along the pavement to light a stick of cigarette when suddenly undetermined vehicle white van without plate nr parked besides the victim and the gun man opened the window of the front seat subsequently shot the victim several times hitting on the different parts of his body using a caliber .45 pistol based on the evidence recovered seven (7) spent shells and one (1) slug/fire bullet from the crime scene. Further investigation revealed the fleeing suspect/s was wearing a scarf white and red combination and immediately after the incident, suspect/s fled towards unknown direction while the victim immediately brought by PInsp Harry Ratunil Velez at Borbon Hospital for immediate medical attention. recovered from the victim possession one (1) black sling bag containing one (1) unit Norinco np44 caliber 45 bearing serial NRBG05168 with one (1) magazine inserted with fourteen (14) live ammo and one (1) black penshopped wallet containing of several identification cards including his firearms license and expired permit to carry card and cash amounting to Six Hundred Pesos (php600.00). Prior to the incident on or about 1:00 in the afternoon of December 13, 2014 allegedly the victim together with his unidentified friend were got wild and threatened some customers at yellow hot restobar located at Pajares Street Barangay Gatas, Pagadian City. Motives of the said incident believed to be personal grudge. While inside the hospital, the victim’s son shouting and saying in vernacular words to quote “mobalos diay mo, mobalos pod me”. On or about 6:00 in the evening of same date the attending physician pronounced the death of the victim. The cadaver of the victim was brought to fatima funeral homes located at barangay lumbia, Pagadian City by his relatives. Personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are now conducting a thorough investigation for possible identity of the fleeing suspect/s. investigator on case is PO2 Jennifer Buco with contact nr 09103364888.

STABBING INCIDENT IN AURORA

On or about 8:30 in the evening of December 30, 2014 at Purok San Juan, Barangay Waterfall, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein victim identified as one (1) Rey Jumarito Y Miranda, 23 years old, single and a resident of the aforesaid place was stabbed to death by a certain Homer Comison Y Llaban alyas Junjun Acosta, 27 years old and a resident of Barangay Puting Bato, Sominot, Zamboanga Del Sur. initial investigation conducted by aurora police station disclosed that both victim and suspect were having a drinking session together with one (1) Alvin Sususco also resident of the abovementioned place when misunderstanding ensued prompting the suspect to stabbed the victim several times hitting on the victim’s body that cause his instantaneous death. Suspect immediately fled towards unknown direction after the incident. Hot pursuit operation was immediately conducted by Aurora police station for possible arrest of the suspect while formal complaint was being prepared to be filed in court against him.

FIRE INCIDENT PAGADIAN CITY

On or about 10:30 in the evening of December 30, 2014, Pagadian City Police Station received a cellphone call from PO1 Romulo Biboso II informing that a fire incident on progress transpired at Vetalea Subdivision, Barangay Manga, Pagadian City. duty desk officer immediately informed the fire station about the said incident through a telephone call while the PNP elements of Pagadian City Police Station led by PInsp Harry Ratunil Velez under the direction of PSupt Glenn Macario Dulawan OIC immediately proceeded the above-mentioned place. Initial investigation disclosed that on or about 10:00 in the evening of same date, the house of one Rechel C Ilano located at Block 3 Lot 4 Vitalea Subdivision, Phase 3, Barangay Manga, Pagadian City was razed by fire. Estimated damage incurred was more or less two (2) Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php200, 00.00) and no casualties involved. Pagadian City Police Station in coordination with the bureau of fire personnel is now conducting investigation regarding the incident and to determined the cause of the said incident.

Accordingly, motives of the said incident believed to be personal grudge, wherein while at the mentioned hospital, the victim’s son shouting and saying in vernacular words to quote “mobalos diay mo, mobalos pod me”. Meanwhile, at about 6:00 PM of same date the attending physician pronounced the death of the victim. His cadaver was brought to Fatima Funeral Homes.

Construction Worker Arrested for Raping his Niece

Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur -  Operatives of Dumalinao MPS arrested a man after he was accused of sexually molesting his niece in his residence  in Barangay Upper Dumalinao at about 3:30 PM of December 30, 2014. The suspect was identified as Romeo Deloeste Y Boaquiña, 36 yrs. old, construction worker and resident of above-mentioned place. He was accused for raping his 12 years old niece and Grade VI Student of Dumalinao Pilot School. Investigation showed that victim was left by her father in the care of her uncle for less than a month as her father went to manila for living after the death of her mother until at more or less 5:00 o’clock in the morning of December 30, 2014, while she was inside the room occupied by the suspect and family in a house owned by Marygrace Puyos situated at above-mentioned place, suspect sexually molested her.  Suspect brought and detained at Dumalinao MPS for further investigation while the victim was brought to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center in Pagadian City for general examination.

Stabbing Incident in Tukuran

Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur – Stabbing incident occurred at about 8:00 PM of December 26, 2014 in Purok Makugihon, Barangay Sto. Niño, Tukuran. The victim was identified as Gloria Alfanta Y Canoy, 51, launderer, resident of said place. She was stabbed by the suspect identified as Joy Soon Y Alfanta, the daughter of the victim, 28, married, housewife and a resident of Barangay Curvada, Tukuran. Investigation conducted disclosed that the suspect was taking her dinner inside the house of her elder sister Mrs. Ginalyn Espadilla at the above-mentioned place of incident when the victim who was believed to be under the influence of liquor arrived and immediately got angry and uttered defaming words towards the  suspect which an arguments ensued between them. The victim rushed inside her house, got a kitchen knife and run towards the direction of the suspect, however, suspect managed to get also a kitchen knife which was placed on top the nipa roof and stabbed the victim.  Victim sustained lone stabbed wound on her abdomen and was immediately brought by her relatives to Rural Health Unit and later brought to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center for medical treatment. She was later was pronounced dead by the attending physician. Recovered at the crime scene was one kitchen knife measuring about 11 inches long. The suspect is now detained at Tukuran MPS pending the filing of appropriate a case against him.

Motor vehicular traffic accident in San Miguel

Zamboanga Del Sur - Motor vehicular traffic accident occurred at about 2:05 PM of December 27, 2014 at Purok Uno, Barangay Mati, San Miguel, wherein one unit sportage color red, bearing plate number LFJ -301, driven by Ryan Buenaventura, legal age, resident of Margosatubig together with his three (3) unidentified passengers accidentally swerved and bumped into the concrete wall of house owned by Pedro Villaro Calunod. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured on the part of the driver to include its passengers as well as the owner and occupant of said house. The subject driver to include its passengers was brought to nearest hospital of said municipality for treatment.

Fire incident in Margosatubig

Zamboanga Del Sur - Fire incident transpired at Purok Cadena De Amor, Barangay Poblacion, Margosatubig at about 12:20 AM of December 28, 2014. Initial investigation conducted by Margos MPS revealed that the fire was originated at the residential house owned by Mrs. Rosita Cumilang particularly at the sala and rapidly engulfed the entire house and spread out at the neighboring houses. A total of twenty six (26) residential house made of light and semi-concrete materials was totally burned and razed to the ground. The cause of the incident is still in the process of investigation and evaluation of the available information. No casualties and injured reported during the said fire incident. The damage to property was estimated in the amount of one million and four hundred thousand pesos (P 1.4 million) more or less.  

Robbery in Pagadian City

Pagadian City – Robbery incident took place at about 10:20 PM of December 28, 2014. The victim was identified as Diana Gay Gadiano Batua, 33, married and a resident of Sunrise Village, Tiguma District, Pagadian City.  Accordingly, she was boarding a passenger tricycle and sitting on the back of the driver when two unidentified male suspects on board a Honda single motorcycle w/out plate number tailed them. Suddenly the back rider suspect immediately grabbed her brown shoulder bag containing cellular phone, Automated Teller Machine Card, Land Bank Card, ONB Card, Metro Bank Credit Card, DILG Employee’s Identification Card, BIR Tin Card, GSIS E-Card, Driver’s License, Phil health Identification Card, cash amounted to four thousand eight hundred pesos ( P 4,800.00) and other important documents. Both suspects then fled heading towards the Barangay Tiguma direction right after the commission of the crime. The Pagadian City Police Station conducted hot pursuit operation against the fleeing suspects.

Pagadian CPS and FESAGS Enforcement of RA 7183

Pagadian City – Elements of Pagadian City Police Station and Firearms Explosives Security Agencies and Guards Section (FESAGS) conducted joint inspection in all establishment selling firecrackers/pyro techniques within the city proper at about 4:45 PM of December 28, 2014. The operation resulted to the discovery of the ten (10) abandoned boxes of imported (assorted) firecrackers/pyro techniques along the sidewalk of Pulmones Street, Santiago District, Pagadian City. Said boxes of firecrackers/ pyro techniques were seized and brought to Pagadian CPS for custody while waiting the owner. The mentioned ten (10) boxes of firecrackers/ pyro techniques were physically inventory in the presence of local media practitioner/ representatives.

REPORTED INCIDENTS –December 22-23, 2014

Stabbing Incident in Pagadian City

Pagadian City - Stabbing incident transpired at Barangay Balintawak, Pagadian City at about 11:30 PM of December 22, 2014. The victims were identified as Jonathan Albaracin Y Ozaraga, 27 and Jene Mark Albaracin Y Ozaraga, 19; both were brothers and residents of said place. The suspect is identified as Francisco Bahinting Albano, 34, married and a resident of said place. Investigation conducted disclosed that the victims were had just came out of their house when approached by the suspect who was under the influence of liquor and asked for something, however, without apparent reason stabbed the victims with the use of a bladed weapon. Both victims managed to maul the suspect. Victim Jonathan Ozaraga sustained two stabbed wounds at the left portion of his chest and left arm while the other victim Jene Ozaraga sustained stabbed wounds on his left eyebrow. They were brought to Pagadian City Med Center for medical treatment. The suspect was then neutralized by the responding Barangay Tanods. He was later on turned- over to the Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition.  

Man Arrested in San Pablo

San Pablo, Zamboanga Del Sur – Operatives of San Pablo MPS captured a wanted person in Purok 6, Barangay Pao, San Pablo at about 7:00 AM of December 23, 2014. Police Senior Inspector Edgar Retuya Hinoctan, Chief of Police of San Pablo MPS, identified as Felipe Amba Y Quering, 35, married, resident of above-mentioned place. Suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of less serious physical injuries cmm issued by Hon Benjamin Lanzaderas, Presiding Judge of RTC branch 22, Pagadian City dated 11 November 2014 docketed under criminal case number 11813-2k14. Arrested person was immediately turn - over to court for proper disposition.

Shooting Incident in Bayog

Zamboanga Del Sur - Shooting incident occurred at about 9:30 PM of December 23, 2014 in Purok 4, Barangay Depore, Bayog. The victim was identified as Stephen Maribao Y Flora, 51, married, businessman and a resident of above-mentioned place. He was shot to death by a suspect identified as Reneboy Arado Y Medel, of legal age, farmer, also a resident of said place with the used of .45 Cal pistol based on the recovered empty shells at the crime scene. Investigation conducted revealed that the victim was playing cards at the abovementioned place when being shot by the suspect without apparent reasons. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body causing his instantaneous death while suspect fled towards unknown direction after the incident. The Bayog MPS now conducting discreet operation for possible arrest of the suspect while a case of murder now being prepared for filing in court against the suspect.

PD 533 Violator Arrested in San Miguel

Zamboanga Del Sur – the San Miguel MPS in compliance to Task Force Manhunt Charlie had arrested a wanted person at about 1:00 PM December 23, 2014 in Barangay Limonan, San Miguel. Police Inspector Hugo Asequia Lacapag Jr – OIC of San Miguel MPS, identified the arrested as Temoteo Bregola Abergas “aka “titing, 42 year old, farmer. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest docketed in criminal case # 14-089- cmm 14-090 and 14-091 for violation of PD # 533 (3 counts) otherwise known as the anti-cattle rustling law which was issued by Hon Felix B. Rodriguez Jr., Acting Presiding Judge Of Regional Trial Court Under Branch 29, Ninth Judicial Region, with total bail recommended of thirty six thousand pesos (p 36,000.00). accused was immediately brought to San Miguel MPS for booking and documentation.

Rape Incident in V. Sagun

Zamboanga Del Sur - Rape incident occurred at about 7:00 PM December 23, 2014 at Purok Saging, Barangay Maraya, Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein a 13 years old student resident of the aforesaid place was raped by a suspect identified as Kent Mahusay aka Kikoy, of legal age, married and also resident of same place. initial investigation conducted revealed that both victim and suspect had a txt conversation that they will meet at the vacant house situated at the abovementioned place to talk about Christmas but as the victim arrived at their meeting place, the suspect suddenly grabbed her and started to molest and raped her. PNP elements of V- Sagun MPS conducted follow-up operation in Barangay Guinimanan, Margosatubig resulting to the arrest of the suspect at about 1:15 PM of December 24, 2014.  Suspect now temporarily detained at V Sagun MPS locked- up cell while an inquest case for rape in relation to RA 7610 was prepared for filing at Provincial Prosecutors Office In Pagadian City

Robbery Incident in Pagadian City

Pagadian City – Robbery Incident occurred at about 11:45 PM of  December 24, 2014 as reported by Joey Francia Y Bayawa assisted by his co-worker’s namely Amorcillo Caipilan Y Maalam And Raul Dagang Y Castro informing that he was robbed at rotunda, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City. investigation conducted disclosed that while the victim ident as one Earl Joey Francia Y Bayawa, 29, Glode Trez Agent and a resident of sunrise village, Barangay Tiguma was driving his black XRM 125 traversing Maharlika Highway of Barangay Dao particularly at rotunda , when suddenly two (2) unidentified male suspects on board with black raider 150 appeared from behind and one of the suspect wearing blue t-shirt, short pants, gray bull cap, age ranging 20 to 25, slim body build commanded and gun pointed the victim using a caliber .45 pistol to stop and blocked his way. Meanwhile, one of them disembarked from their single mc and forcibly took his collection amounted to twenty thousand pesos (P 20,000.) more or less. Suspects immediately left going towards unknown direction after the incident. The Pagadian CPS is now conducting follow-up operation against the fleeing suspects.

Rapist Arrested in Pagadian City

Pagadian City – PNP elements of Pagadian CPS led by Police Chief Inspector Gilzen Niño Regis Manese, arrested Fernando Villarcampo, 40, at fish port pagadian city at about 10:00 PM of December 24, 2014, by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Felix Rodriguez Jr Presiding Judge dated august 20, 2014 for the crime of rape docketed under criminal case no.11630-2k14 with no bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty. Accused is now detained at Tukuran MPS jail waiting for commitment order to provincial jail.

ARRESTED WANTED PERSON IN DUMINGAG

On or about 3:30 in the afternoon of December 18, 2014, PNP elements of Dumingag Police Station led by SPO2 Mensel Lao successfully arrested one (1) Marilyn Tampos Y Ybañez, 36 years old, married, resident of Barangay Lower Landing, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur at kids and moms saloon located at Ozamiz City Public Market, Misamis Occidental, by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Honorable Judge Crislyn D. Pangindian of 11th MCTC Mahayag-Dumingag And Josefina, 9th Judicial Region Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur dated January 22, 2014 under criminal case number 4967-D for the crime of slander by deed, with recommended bail bond amounting to Php12,000.00. Accused is now detained at Dumingag Police Station lock-up cell while waiting for court commitment order.

ARRESTED WANTED PERSON IN MIDSALIP

On or about 2:45 in the afternoon of December 18, 2014 at Purok 2, Barangay Golictop, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein PNP team of Midsalip Police Station led by SPO4 Eulogio Daing Aballe, MESPO proceeded to the aforesaid place to arrest one (1) Benben Arapon aka Ben, 23 years old, single  and a resident of the abovementioned barangay by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of Rape in criminal case no. 11-10,773 issued by Hon. Judge Ernesto Mve Laurel, Presiding Judge of RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga Sur, with no bail bond recommended given last July 29, 2011. Accused was successfully arrested and now temporarily detained at Midsalip Police Station locked-up cell while waiting for court commitment order.

Robbery and Carnapping Incident

Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur – A car napping with robbery occurred at about 7:00 in the evening of December 18, 2014 along the National Highway in Barangay Paradise, Ramon Magsaysay. The victim was identified as Ceasar Ryan Sumile Guillergan, 30, married, a Zamboanga Del Sur Electric Cooperative employee with postal add at Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City. initial investigation disclosed that the victim was traversing from Barangay Switch going to Pagadian City on board of his motorcycle, however, upon reaching above mention place of incident; two unidentified riding criminals suddenly appeared from his back on board of a motorcycle of unknown make and model without plate number, wherein the back rider wearing black jacket, checkered short and bonnet immediately drew his unknown short firearm and aimed towards the victim and make a warning shot. the suspects forcibly stopped the victim and took the victim Honda XRM 125 with color combination white and black, bearing temp plat no 093010, sling bag containing Asus net book and digital multi clamp tester, wallet containing CR of this said motorcycle, id’s and ATM with a money amounted to P6,000.00 in different denominations. The suspects immediately fled to unknown direction after the incident. The elements of Ramon Magsaysay MPS conducted follow- up investigation for possible arrest of the suspect.

Drowning Incident

Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur - Drowning incident occurred in Barangay Poblacion, Midsalip at about 12:40 in the afternoon of December 19, 2014.  The victim was identified as Iverson Montefalcon Y Sulag, 5, a resident of Barangay Guma, Midsalip. Initial investigation disclosed that the victim and his father attended a Christmas party at Maghanoy Swimming Pool located at the above-mentioned. The victim went on swimming at the pool and it was unattended by his father, however, concern citizen notice and found a body sink at swimming pool. He was immediately rushed to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital by his father but it was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

RA 9262 Violator Nabbed in V-Sagun

V-Sagun, Zamboanga Del Sur – Operatives of V-Sagun MPS nabbed a senior citizen in Barangay Cogon, V-Sagun for violation of RA 9262 at about 11:00 in the morning of December 19, 2014. Police Senior Inspector Rolando Bayawa Coz, Chief of Police of V-Sagun MPS, identified the arrested person as Victor Sumagang Y Delacruz, 58, married, resident of the above mentioned place.  He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for violation of RA 9262 under Criminal Case Number 14-081 issued by Hon. Judge Felix B. Rodriguez Jr. of RTC, Branch 29,  San Miguel, Zamboanga Del Sur. Suspect is now temporarily detained at the said police station for proper disposition.

Detainee Charged with Car napping

Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur – The elements of Molave MPS served and affect the warrant of arrest against a detainee in BJMP Jail in Barangay Mabuhay, Molave at about 2:15 in the afternoon of December 19, 2014. Police Chief Inspector Restittuto A. Pangusban, Chief of Police of Molave MPS, identified the arrested detainee as Ross B. Ebarle. He was arrested by the virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jaime Caberte, Branch 23 of the Regional Trial Court, Ninth Judicial Region for the crime of carnapping with criminal case number 2014-10-2862. The recommended bail bond is fixed to P300, 000.00 pesos only for his temporary liberty
