Iligan City Information Officer Nabbed for Carrying Unlicensed Firearm

Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur – a city information officer of Illigan City was arrested after he was caught carrying unlicensed 45 pistol firearm tucked on his waist in Barangay San Isdro, Mahayag at about 1:40 in the afternoon of December 7, 2014. Arrested was identified as  Eleno Bacus Y Gelleca Jr. @ aka Waldo, 53, married, City Information Officer Of Iligan  and residence of Zone Neptune 1 Suarez, Iligan City. prior to his arrest, the suspect was arrested by the pnp elements of mahayag mps for violation of ra 10591 was  caught in the act of carrying  caliber 45 pistol tucked on his waist, however, when being approached and confronted by the PNP elements of Mahayag MPS for the legality of said firearm, suspect failed to present firearm licensed and permit to carry firearm and instead he only presented a mission order issued from 12th intelligence and security unit, intelligence and security group, Phil. Army, based in Cotabato City dated 01 December 2014, signed by Major Marvin W Beltran, Phil. Army, commanding officers. Confiscated from his possession and control are one (1) caliber 45 pistol colt, government model, bearing serial number 301269 with two (2) magazine of Cal 45 loaded with twelve (12) live ammunitions. Arrested person was temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS while an appropriate case for violation of RA 10591 is being prepared for filing in court.

Wanted Man Arrested in Ramon Magsaysay

Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur – operatives of Ramon Magsaysay MPS arrested a wanted person in Barangay Switch, Ramon Magsysay at about 1:00 PM December 7, 2014. Jerson Dagwan Colindres, 51, married, driver, resident of said place, was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of violation of RA 9262 docketed under criminal case number 14-10, 1113 issued by Hon Jaime B Caberte, Presiding Judge, RTC 30, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. The accused was brought and now temp detained at said police station while waiting for court commitment order from court concern.

Robbery Incident

Guipos, Zamboanga Del Sur - a robbery incident occurred at about 1:30 in the afternoon of December 8, 2014. The victim was identified as Roseben Solatorio Manatad, 25, single, e-link smart collector, resident of Barangay Lapidian, Pagadian City. He was robbed by two (2) unidentified male person at Sitio Kawayan, Purok Roxas, Balongating, Guipos. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim was travelling from San Miguel to Guipos, but upon reaching at the abovementioned place, two (2) unidentified suspects gun pointed at him and declared hold-up. The robbers carted away his sling bag containing one (1) unit LG cellphone, ten (10) pcs sim cards and collection money amounting to P 15,000.00). Both suspects fled towards unknown direction after the incident. one of the suspect is wearing black cap, t-shirt and jacket with estimated height of 5’6” tall and with thin body while the other one is wearing round collar t-shirt color dirty white with estimated height of 5’2” tall , medium body and 1 inch haircut. The Guipos MPS is now conducting discreet operation and thorough investigation for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.

Vehicular Accident in Josefina

Josefina, Zamboanga Del Sur – On or about 5:30 in the afternoon of December 8, 2014, a radio call received by Josefina MPS from barangay emergency response team (BERT) requesting police assistance re vehicular  accident transpired along national highway  of Sito Logdeck, Upper Bag-Ong Tudela, Josefina.  The Josefina MPS personnel rushed to the scene of accident to conduct investigation. Investigation showed that the victim identified as Dionisio B. Eniego, 61 years old, married, farmer, resident of said place, was standing near side of the road of the aforesaid place when  accidentally bumped/hit by alpha motor star single MC color blue with plate number 5211, driven by Julius Lacay Fuentes, 20, also farmer  and resident of Purok Lourmah, Mahayag. The victim sustains injuries at different parts of his body and was brought to Josefina Rural Health unit for medical treatment. The driver who also sustained minor injury was brought to Josefina MPS together his driven MC for proper disposition

Man Arrested for Theft in Mahayag

Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur – operatives of Mahayag MPS and Molave MPS, arrested Butch Palma in Barangay Poblacion, Mahayag at about 6:20 in the evening of December 8, 2014. Suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Hon Loreto C. Quinto Presiding Judge 9th RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur for the crime of theft docketed under criminal case number 2006-10-1801 with recommended bail bond fixed at forty thousand pesos (P 40,000.00) subject person was brought to Mahayag MPS for documentation and subsequently turn- over to the said police station for proper disposition while waiting for court commitment order.
