REPORTED INCIDENT – JULY 19-20, 2014

PRESS RELEASE

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On or about 9:35 in the evening of July 19, 2014 at Jc Videoke Bar located at Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein two (2) victims identified as Edmond Vilocora Y Gomontag and Mark Anthony Elmar Y Sumampong, both of legal age, married, resident of Purok Santan B, San Jose, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur were shot several times by unidentified suspect using caliber 45 pistol. Investigation conducted by Pagadian City Police Station disclosed that at about 9:20 in the evening of same date, while said victims were having a drinking spree at the abovementioned place when suspect suddenly appeared from behind and shot them several times without any apparent reason. Both victims sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center for immediate medical treatment while suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident. evidence recovered from the crime scene are seven (7) fired cartridge case of caliber 45 pistol and two (2) deform slug of same caliber. PNP elements of Pagadian City Police Station conducted a follow-up investigation for the possible identity and arrest of suspect.

STABBING INCIDENT

On or about 12:05 in the afternoon of July 19, 2014, Molave Police Station received a report from concerned citizen informing that a stabbing incident transpired at Purok La, Barangay Makugihon, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein both brothers/victims identified as Jek Yap Y Martil, 25 years old, married, slaughter house butcher by occupation, resident of said place and one (1) Lino Yap Y Martil, 23 years old, single, pedicab (sikad-sikad) driver by occupation, resident of same place were stabbed and stroked by suspect identified as Rommel Olanda Y Patalinghug, 31 years old, married, habal-habal driver by occupation and also resident of same place. initial investigation conducted by Molave Police Station disclosed that prior to the incident, suspect was on his house of said place when harassed and attacked by both brothers (victims) who were allegedly armed with baseball bat and knives and accordingly under the influence of alcohol. during the course of their fight, suspect was able to defend himself and take away the baseball bat and knives from the attackers possession which in turn he used in stabbing and striking the aggressors/attackers. As a result, Jek Yap Y Martil sustained serious injuries on his head and different parts of his body while his younger brother Lino Yap Y Martil sustained stabbed wound on his left shoulder and both were rushed to Salug Valley Medical Center/Igano Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Suspect was immediately arrested by the responding PNP elements of Molave Police Station and is now temporarily detained at locked-up cell of said station for proper disposition of the case of both the suspect and victims. Motive of the incident believed to be personal grudge that has relation to the incident that recently transpired at about 9:00 in the morning of same date at Barangay Makugihon of said municipality.

ROBBERY/HOLD-UP INCIDENT

On or about 9:35 in the evening of July 19, 2014, one (1) Alvin Padayao Y Salvador, 19 years old, single, resident of Barangay Gatas District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur personally appeared and reported to Pagadian City Police Station informing that he was robbed by two (2) unidentified suspects at rotunda, Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City. investigation conducted by Pagadian City Police Station disclosed that said victim together with his friends were walking at the above-mentioned place when  suspects who were armed with a ice pick  suddenly approached them and declared hold-up. Suspects carted away the following: one (1) unit smart phone; two (2) nokia cellphones; and one (1) unit single motorcycle Honda Xrm bearing plate number 091030. Said suspects immediately fled to unknown direction after the incident onboard on said single motorcycle being stolen. Pagadian City Police Station conducted a follow-up investigation for the possible identity and arrest of suspects.

CAMPAIGN AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS

On or about 11:00 in the morning of July 19, 2014 at Barangay Romarate, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur particularly at the nipa hut of said place wherein two (2) suspects identified as Mark Joseph Pareja Y Tabal, 21 years old, single, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Maigo, Lanao Del Norte and one (1) Marlou Malian Y Mesa, 27 years old, married, resident of Barangay La Paz, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur were arrested by the PNP elements of Aurora Police Station for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act Of 2002). Subject persons were caught in the act of having a pot session at the abovementioned place and confiscated from their possession and control are the following:  three (3) used aluminum foil; three (3) used empty sachet containing one (1) white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; and two (2) disposable lighters. suspects are now temporarily detained at Aurora Police Station locked-up cell while a appropriate case for violation of R.A. 9165 are now being prepared for filing in  court.

VEHICULAR ACCIDENT

On or about 6:15 in the morning of July 19, 2014 at Demorok Steel Bridge located at national highway of Barangay Mansanas, Josefina, Zamboanga Del Sur wherein one (1) Hyundai Bongo drop side pick-up, color blue, bearing plate number RAS-630, driven by Jeto Apat Y Galan, 33 years old, married, resident of Barangay Rebe, Lala, Lanao Del Norte accidentally bumped into the steel railing of the abovementioned bridge. Initial investigation conducted by Josefina Police Station disclosed that subject vehicle was traversing from Maranding Lanao Del Norte bound to Dipolog City and upon reaching at the abovementioned place said vehicle accidentally swerved into the steel railing of said bridge and fell down to the precipice due to slippery of running steel board.  As a result, driver of said vehicle sustained slight physical injuries on the different parts of his body while his vehicle incurred heavy damaged.

Shooting incident in Lakewood

Shooting incident transpired in Barangay Poblacion, Lakewood, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 PM of July 20, 2014. The victim was identified as Ramon T Bansalao, of legal age, married, jobless and a resident of abovementioned place. He was shot to death by suspect identified as Benbenido Conda Y Lucmong, 52 years old, married, local gov’t employee and also resident of same place. Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was then under the influenced by liquor and looked suspicious as he was seen going in and out of the piggery of certain Hon Gil Duran. At that moment, the suspect armed with a cal. x 9mm Para with serial no. x9 05111526 came and advised the said victim to go home, however, he refused and intend to grabbed/pulled said firearm form the suspect. The two grappled and the suspect accidentally fired his firearms three (3) times hitting the victim. He sustained gunshot wounds on his left chest that caused his instantaneous death. The suspect voluntarily surrendered after the incident to the responding Lakewood Police. He is now being detained at said police station for proper disposition while the confiscated firearm with two (2) magazines loaded with nine (9) live ammos and three (3) fired cartridge cases which were recovered at the crime scene is now under the custody of said police station.
