Señor citizen woman wounded in Shooting Incident

TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur - Señor citizen woman in Shooting incident transpired at Purok Bagacay, Barangay Doňa Josefina, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11530 PM of April 29, 2019. 

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Eduarda Balansag y Ayawan, 86 years old, widow, resident of afore-said place, who sustained gunshot wound at the upper part of her left thigh.

The victim was immediately brought to Tabina Rural Health Unit for medication and later referred to Margosatubig Regional Hospital.

Accordingly, a certain Abundio Piang y Paalisbo, 54 years old, male, farmer and a resident of said place were sleeping at about 11:45 PM of April 29, 2019 when he was awakened by constant barking of the dog.

He stood up and got his flashlight and verified the surroundings. With the light of his flashlight, he saw the person of Emilio Sumagang, Roger Baguio and three (3) others with long firearms at the back of his house and thereafter several gunshots were fired towards him.

Fortunately, he was able to jump; however, his mother-in-law identified as Eduarda Balansag y Ayawan,was hit.

Suspects fled immediately after the incident going to barangay Manicaan Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur.

Tabina Municipal Police Station is now conducting manhunt operation against the fleeing suspect.

Indiscriminate Firing

PAGAIAN CITY - Alleged illegal discharge of firearm transpired at Zone 3 Mahigalaon, Brgy. Bulatok, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:35 PM of April 29, 2019.

Initial Investigation disclosed that allegedly there were seven (7) undetermined single motorcycles on board by unidentified persons wearing face mask traversing at Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City and upon reaching at Zone 3, Mahigalaon, Brgy. Bulatok, Pagadian City particularly in front of the house of Barangay Captain Eddie Gallega, fire their firearms to the ground and thereafter fled going towards Barangay Tuburan direction.

Recovered from the crime scene were 4 pieces empty shell and one (1) slug of caliber 45 pistol. Pagadian City Police Station is now conducting follow-up operation regarding the incident.

Grave Threat Incident

LAPUYAN, Zamboanga del Sur - Grave threat incident transpired at Purok 5 Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:00 AM of April 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Rudy Lingating Y Libet, 49 years old, male, driver, married and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.  

Accordingly, at about 10:00 AM of April 29, 2019, the victim was driving his single motorcycle from barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, when allegedly the person of Jan-Jan Bayokbok, legal age and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur overtook and telling him to stop and suddenly parked his driven single motorcycle in front of the victim angrily confronted and grabbed the victim shirt, holding the cowling of his motorcycle and turned the side mirror of his motorcycle.

Thereafter, the suspect turned his back and fired his gun five (5) times and thereafter changed his magazine and identifies himself as Jan-jan Bayokbok.

Then unidentified person came and took the hand gun of the said suspect and signaled the victim to ran, so the victim hurriedly proceeded to Lapuyan MPS and asked for police assistance.

Electrician Arrested For the Crime of Reckless Imprudence Resulting In Homicide

PAGADIAN CITY - Police operatives of Pagadian City Police Station have arrested a wanted person at Purok Nangka, Barangay Lenienza, Pagadian City at about 12:05 PM of April 29, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the arrested suspect as Edmer Fiel Y Martinez, 26 years old male, single, electrician, Filipino and a resident of Purok Nangka, Barangay Lenienza, Pagadian City.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest docketed under criminal case number 18128 issued on April 8, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Municipal Trial Court in Cities, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 2, Pagadian City for the crime of Reckless Imprudence Resulting In Homicide with bail recommended is fixed at Thirty Six Thousand Pesos only (Php36,000.00).for his temporary liberty.

April 27-28, 2019 - Incident Reports in the munucupalities of Zamboanga del Sur

Shooting Incident

LABANGAN, Zamboanga del Sur - On April 27, 2019 at about 2:30 PM, a shooting incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.  

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Jerome Inso Y Gumansay, 24 years old, single, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, he was shot twice using caliber 357 revolver by suspect identified as Redentor Elloric Y Tarosa, 46 years old, married, Barangay Tanod member, and resident of Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The victim sustained one (1) gunshot wound on his upper right chest and was brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City for medical treatment, but was declared dead around 3:50 PM of same date by the attending physician Dra. Merasol Ann Pacencia. 

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim believed to be under the influence of liquor allegedly got wild, armed with a hunting knife and roamed around at Purok 3, Barangay Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur when suddenly shot by the above-mentioned suspect.

At about 4:00 PM of same date, Hon. Fernando Rollo, Barangay Chairman of Bokong, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur appeared to Labangan MPS and surrendered the living body of the aforementioned suspect and turned-over one (1) unit caliber 357 revolver with three (3) live ammunitions and two (2) fired cartridge cases of same caliber used by the suspect. 

The suspect is now temporarily detained at Labangan MPS detention cell, while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.

3 Arrested, Firearms Seized in COMELEC Checkpoint in Zambo Sur

KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur - On April 28, 2019 at about 03:00 o'clock dawn, elements of Charlie Company, 53rd IB, Philippine Army led by 1Lt Michael Bumidang, Commanding Officer, turn-over to Kumalarang MPS three male persons.

The three suspects were identified as:

Ryan Aribal Talara, 36 years old, resident of Barangay Colo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur;

Matan Gawol Gon, 37 years old, resident of Barangay Payungan Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay; and

Mark Sandalan Ata, 38 years old, Barangay Bolisong, Kumalarang, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The three suspects were arrested at COMELEC Checkpoint and three (3) units of firearm were confiscated from them described as one unit AK200R with Serial No. 500906, one unit Cal. 45 pistol (Colt MK IV) with Serial No.33445, and one unit KJ9 with Serial No. 247279.  

The firearms were seized inside the vehicle described as 4x4 Jeep during the checkpoint operation at National Highway, Barangay Bogayo, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:30 in the evening of April 27, 2019.

Initial Investigation conducted by Kumalarang MPS revealed that above-named Philippine Army personnel conducted checkpoint at the unlighted area of said barangay purposely to intercept the above-described vehicle that was traveling from Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur to National Highway, Barangay Bogayo of same municipality based on the alleged report of strafe incident they received at the house of Punong Barangay Rey Cais of Barangay Gawil.

Upon reaching the National Highway of Barangay Bogayo, the Philippine Army personnel intercepted the vehicle and ordered its entire passenger (arrested persons) to go out and afterwards conducted an intensive search inside the vehicle and able to recover the above-describe firearms.

Investigation further disclosed that there was no strafe incident occurred to the house of Punong Barangay Rey Cais of Barangay Gawil, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

Arrested persons and seized firearms are now in the custody of Kumalarang MPS while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.

Rape Suspect Cuffed

DUMALINAO, Zamboanga del Sur - PNP personnel of Dumalinao Municipal Police Station led by Police Major Edison F Alviar, Officer In-Charge, conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Waling- Waling, Barangay Tickwas, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur7:10 PM, 27 April 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted to the arrest of Gilbert Navaja Aragon, 28 years old, single, laborer by profession, and a resident of Purok Waling-Waling, Barangay Tickwas, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case Number 10152-K11, issued by Hon. Benjamin R Lanzaderas, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 22, Pagadian City with no bail bond.

April 26, 2019 Incident Reports in Pagaian City, Zamboanga del Sur

Robbery Incident in Pagadian

PAGADIAN CITY (April 27, 2019) – More or less P50K was carted by the unidentified suspect in a Robbery incident transpired at Purok Daraan, Barangay Gubang, Pagadian City.

Lt. Col. Alvin Saguban, City Police Chief identified the victim as Eliezer Duyag y Perolino, 42 years old, male, married, Barangay Treasurer of Brgy Gubang, Pagadian City and a resident of Purok Daraan, Gubang, Pagadian City.

Investigation disclosed that at about 2:30 PM of April 26, 2019, two (2) gray Toyota Hilux (Pick-Up) boarded by unidentified persons arrived at the covered court of Brgy. Gubang, Pagadian City.

The one who was wearing face mask fired an M16 rifle in the air hitting the roof of the covered court which caused panic of the people thereat and another one of the male person allegedly identified as certain Joy Getigan.

At the time of the incident, the victim was at the covered court that was finger-pointed by one of the armed men.

The victim immediately run to the back of the Barangay hall and was chased by the said armed men and cornered thereat.

One of the male persons ordered him to drop and fired his firearm twice and another stepped on his neck as he dropped to the ground where his pack bag was taken allegedly contain a unit cellular phone with estimated amount of five thousand and cash amount of more or less forty-eight thousand pesos (Php48,000.00).

As the group boarded their get-away vehicle, they left the pack bag with the zipper already opened and was already emptied of the foregoing money.

The suspects fled towards Barangay Macasing, Pagadian City right after the incident.

Recovered at the crime scene were three (3) fired cartridges of cal. 5.56 M16 rifle.

Detainee Escaped in Pagadian City Hospital

PAGADIAN CITY (April 27, 2019) - A detainee who was confined at the Aisah Hospital, San Pedro District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur escaped from his security at about 12:30 PM of April 26, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the escaped detainee as Arnaiz Alam Cabaro “Aka Cabib”, for the crime of Murder/Direct Assault, under Criminal Case # 13864-2k18 and 13865-2k18 who was confined at said hospital undergoing medication.

The police officers who were serves as security to the detainee were Police Corporal Elmo P Fadri and Police Corporal James L Luague, both PNP member assigned at Labangan Municipal Police Station and detailed at Aisah Hospital, San Pedro Dist., Pagadian City.  

PNP personnel of Labangan MPS in coordination with the neighboring PNP units and other law enforcement units conducted pursuit operation to locate and arrest subject detainee/escapee. The pursuit operation is still on progress.

Engine Mechanic Nabbed for the Crime of Attempted Homicide

PAGADIAN CITY (April 27, 2019) - Police operatives of Pagadian City Police Station conducted operation at the vicinity of City Hall Complex, Gatas District, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 2:30 PM of April 26, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted to the arrest of Martino Burok Y Enderes, 42 years old, male, married, engine mechanic, Filipino and a resident of Matinahuron, Barangay Bulatok, Pagadian City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest docketed under criminal case number 17584 issued on April 23, 2019 by Honorable Presiding Judge of Municipal Trial Court in Cities, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 2, Pagadian City for the crime of Attempted Homicide with no bail recommended.

The accused temporarily detained at Pagadian CPS for proper disposition.

April 23-25, 2019 Reported Incident in the municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur

1 person killed in Shooting Incident

TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur (April. 25, 2019) – One person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Lumbia, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:30 PM of April 23, 2019.

The victim was identified as Jacer Jacalan y Baltazar, 49 years old, married, farmer, Chief Tanod of aforesaid Barangay and resident of District Cabuso, Lumbia, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial investigation disclosed that the Barangay Tanod’s of aforesaid barangay were performing their night duty at Lumbia Multi-Purpose Hall adjacent to its Barangay Hall when two unidentified pick-up trucks arrived, suddenly unidentified masked men with firearms dismounted from the aforesaid vehicles and went towards the location of Barangay Tanod’s. However, some Barangay Tanods manage to flee from the area and sought refuge from the neighboring houses.

The victim identified as Jacer Jacalan y Baltazar and Rolando Melca y Mercado, 50 years old, farmer, a tanod member and resident of District Canaway, Lumbia, Tabina were left at the Multi-Purpose Hall.

At that juncture, the said masked men demanded them to drop at the ground and even kicked them.

When the masked men were about to leave the area,

Jacer Jacalan y Baltazar and

Rolando Melca y Mercado run towards their barangay hall, but gun shots were fired by the masked men, unfortunately, Jacer Jacalan y Baltazar was hit.

He sustained one (1) gunshot-wound at the right butt that resulted to his untimely death.

The unidentified suspects immediately fled towards the direction of Barangay Mabuhay, Tabina on board the same vehicles.

Motive of the incident are yet to be determined. Victim dead body was already at the care of his immediate family.

Recovered from the crime scene were four (4) empty shells of caliber 5.56mm.

Stabbing Incident

SAN PABLO, Zamboanga del Sur (April 25, 2019) - Stabbing incident transpired at Purok San Juan, Barangay Sagasan, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:00 midnight of April 23, 2019.

The victim was a 33 years old housewife named Marisan, a resident of Purok Makiangayon, Barangay Poblacion, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was  by her husband identified as Reynaldo “Baldo” Maghuyop Amodia, 33 years old, male, Filipino, married, farmer, also a resident of the above mentioned place using a bolo.

The victim was hit at her left shoulder. Suspect was believed to be under the influence liquor. Victim was brought to Municipal Health Center of San Pablo for medication.

PNP personnel of san Pablo MPS responded and arrested the suspect. He is now detained in San Pablo MPs locked-up cell for proper disposition.

Recovery of Cadaver

DUMINGAG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 25, 2019) - Dead body was reportedly found at Purok 1, Barangay Kauswagan, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:30 PM of April 23, 2019.

The cadaver was identified as Samuel Portabes Buagas, 49 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay San Vicente Dumingag Zamboanga del Sur.

He has stab wounds of his body and accordingly he was already three (3) days dead.

Investigation conducted disclosed that at about 1:00 PM of April 21, 2019 the deceased person last seen having a drinking spree with his friends at Barangay San Vicente, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Accordingly, at about 4:00 PM of same date, he allegedly went home riding his horse alone. After that moment he did not returned home.

Retired Government Employee Held for the crime of Acts Of Lasciviousness

PAGADIAN CITY (April 25, 2019) - Police personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted operation at Zone 1, Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:10 AM of April 23, 2019.

The operation was resulted to the arrest of Edris Mama Y Mitumug, 62 years old (January 14, 1958) male, married, retired government employee (DepEd), Filipino and a resident of Zone 1, Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City.

He was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest docketed under Criminal Case number 18134 issued on April 4, 2019 by Presiding Judge, Municipal Trial Court in Cities, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Pagadian City for the crime of Acts of Lasciviousness with bail bond fixed at Thirty-Six Thousand Pesos (Php36, 000.00) for his temporary liberty.

Accused is now temporarily detained at Pagadian City Police Station for proper disposition.

Shooting Incident

MABUHAY, Zamboanga del Sur (April 25, 2019) - Shooting Incident transpired at Barangay Bagong Silang, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 10:00 PM of April 24, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified as victim as a 15 years old boy named Jori, Grade-6 student of Bagong Silang Elementary School, a resident of said place, who was shot by the un-identified suspect.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 8:00 PM of same date, the victim and his companion identified as Marvin Gataw allegedly threw stones at the coconut kiln owned by Luciana Labado purposely to intimidate the unidentified occupant to leave because the victim together with his companion are planning to steal the coconut kernel (copra) at the kiln.

However, the unidentified occupant shot the victim using unknown caliber hitting at the upper right shoulder of the victim.

The responding PNP elements of Mabuhay MPS brought the victim to Olutanga Municipal Hospital for medication.

The Regional Director ordered the Mabuhay Municipal Police Station under Police Lieutenant Ronald M. Lozada to conduct investigation and operation to possibly identify and arrest the fleeing suspect.

Shooting Incident

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 26, 2019) - Shooting incident occurred at Brgy. Campo 1, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 12:10 in the morning of April 26, 2019, two (2) male persons were found bloody lying beside of their single motorcycles along the old National Highway at Purok Sta Maria, Brgy. Campo 1 Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The male person lay beside the single motorcycle skygo, color red, without plate number was identified as Castor Cabusas y Branzuela, 38 years old, married and a resident Purok Lajoma, Brgy. San Jose, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur was immediately transported by the ambulance of the Aurora Rural Health Unit going to Mharsgen Hospital, Ozamis City for medication while the other male person laid beside the single motorcycle XRM, color blue, with plate number JP 9099 was identified as Ranulfo Rato y Cabusas sustained gunshot wound on his armpit, face and head that resulted to his untimely death.

During the processing of the crime scene the team able recovered three (3) empty shells of caliber 45 and to be turned-over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Laboratory for Ballistic Examination.

Aurora Municipal Police Station is still conducting thorough investigation for possible identification of the suspect and to determine the motive of the incident.

Murder Suspect Arrested

DINAS, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2019) - PNP Personnel of Dinas Municipal Police Station conducted police operation on wanted person at Barangay Sumpotan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:10 PM of April 22, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted in the arrest of Pernel Palumar Y Patagoc, 45 years old, married, carpenter/farmer, and a resident of Barangay Sumpotan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of murder under Criminal Case no.05-009 issued by Presiding judge RTC, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

The arrested person is now under custody of Dinas MPS for proper disposition. The Regional Director lauded the operating units for a job well done.

Rape Suspect Cuffed

JOSEFINA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2019) - Combined PNP Personnel of Josefina Municipal Police Station and Ozamis City Police Station conducted police operation on wanted person at Purok 4, Barangay Bañadero, Ozamis City at about 6:30 PM of April 22, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted in the arrest of Carlito Maglinte Y Tabotabo, 71 years old, male married and a resident of Purok 4, Bañadero, Ozamis City.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of 5 Counts Rape in relation to RA 7610 docketed under Criminal Case no. 2010-10-2336, 2010-10-2337, 2010-10-2338, 2010-10-2339, 2010-10-2340 and for the crime of Acts Of Lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610 docketed under Criminal Case no. 2010-10-2327 issued by Presiding Judge of Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur with no bail bond recommended.

The arrested person is now under custody of Josefina MPS for proper disposition.

The Regional Director lauded the operating units for a job well done.

Rape Suspect Arrested

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2019) - Joint PNP Personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station and Buldon Municipal Police Station (Maguindanao) conducted police operation on wanted person at Purok Sta. Cruz, Barangay Libertad, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:05 PM of April 22, 2019. 

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted in the arrest of James Ryan Borbon y Calleno, 23 years old, male, carpenter, a resident of Purok Calubi, Barangay Poblacion, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under Criminal Case no. 2018-9812 issued by Presiding judge, RTC 12, Judicial Region Branch 27, Cotabato City dated March 4, 2019, with No bail recommended.  

The arrested person was brought to Aurora Municipal Police Station for record purposes and turned-over to personnel of Buldon MPS for proper disposition.

April 18-20, 2019 Incident Reports in Zamboanga del Sur

1 person killed in Shooting Incident, suspect arrested

LAPUYAN Zamboanga del Norte (April 20, 2019) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok Dagum, Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur. about 8:10 o’clock in the evening of April 19, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Ramel Daniel y Samputon, 40 years old, married, male, farmer and a resident of Purok Dagum, Barangay Tiguha, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del sur.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wound at the right side of his body which resulted to his untimely death.

The wife of the victim Mercy Daniel stated that she personally saw Bobong Labadia, Joril B Labadia, Mac Mac Labadia choked her husband while lying on the side of the road as if they were trying to drown the victim in the rice field’s irrigation of which the wife’s position has an estimated distance from them was 15 meters away from her husband.

The responding PNP elements were able to apprehend Joril Labadia Y Binghot, 21 years old, single, Jobless, a resident of same place pinpointed by the wife of the victim as one of the three (3) suspects who perpetrated the crime and now under the Police custody of Lapuyan MPS for further investigation.

Based on the initial investigation conducted disclosed that the motive killing is personal grudge as the suspects and the victim has a pending barangay case to be heard at the office of the barangay chairman on Monday April 22, 2019.

Govt. Employee Held for Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban

PAGADIAN CITY (April 20, 2019) -  An apprehension in violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban Incident transpired at Purok Sandayong, Baloyboan, Pagadian City at about 11:15 P.M. of April 19, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the suspect as Archimedes Colastre y Dalogdog, 43 years old, male, Filipino, married, government employee assigned at Provincial Capitol of Zamboanga Del Sur and a resident of Purok Tisa, Baloyboan, Pagadian City.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect who was figured on board his service Black with red combination Honda Beat single motorcycle bearing with Temporary Plate No. 0374440 was roaming around the vicinity of Barangay Baloyboan, Pagadian City.

Thus, a responding team of Police personnel of Pagadian City Police Station led by PCMS Arnold S Genotiva and a team of PMFC led by PMSg Ariel T Tuazon, both assigned at COMPAC Buenavista rushed to the aforementioned place to verify the veracity of the report.

Upon arrival, they saw the suspect approaching on board his service single motorcycle fluttering on the road and was apparently drunk. The team approached the suspect, conducted search with his Sling Bag and asked if he has a Driver’s License to operate his motorcycle.

That the suspect uttered that his Driver’s License was inside the U-box of his driven motorcycle causing the team told him to open and upon opened, the team saw and recovered One (1) unit Caliber .38 revolver firearm loaded with four (4) live ammunitions at the chamber without presenting any pertinent documents.

Thus, the suspect violated R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban who was placed on arrest after being apprised of his rights under Miranda Doctrine and was temporarily held in protective custody of Pagadian CPS while an appropriate charge in court is being prepared.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director lauded the Pagadian City Police under Police Lt Col. Alvin Saguban for a job well done.

Dead Body Found in Zambo Sur

PAGADIAN CITY (April 20, 2019) -  A dead body was found floating along the coastal water, a 100 meters from the Fish Port Area, San Pedro Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:15 A.M. of April 19, 2019.

Pagadian CPS investigators proceeded to the area and conducted initial investigation.

Upon arrival at the scene, the body was already brought by Jimboy Canillo Cubo and Reyland Gulani Disawangan to the Fish Port Area, located at San Pedro, Pagadian City on board on a motorized boat and the dead body is identified as one (1) Julito Jumawan y Alay, 45 years old, male, with live-in partner, Fisherman, Filipino and a resident Purok Masanagon Uno, San Pedro District, Pagadian City, ZDS.

It was also learned that the discovery of the dead body floating by the water was discover by some fishers in the area at around 6:20 am of same date. Based on initial findings, the victim sustained three (3) possible stabbed wounds on his left face, left and right shoulders.

Investigation conducted disclosed that around 7:00 P.M. of April 18, 2019, the victim was having a drinking spree with one of his peers named Eddie Lara Carillo, 46 years old, male, with live-in partner, fisherman, Filipino temporarily residing at Purok Bougainvilla, San Pedro, Pagadian City with permanent address at Purok 6, Barangay Singclot, Municipality of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur at 5 Brothers Fishing Boat that was anchored in front of Pagadian City Fish Port moments after Julito Jumawan y Alay who is apparently drunk started shouting and talks about nasty words which made Eddie Lara Carillo to decide to leave the victim alone and headed to another fishing boat named Sunshine.

The SOCO Team based at Camp Abelon, Lumbia, Pagadian City arrived and process the crime scene.

On the other hand Dr. Noel Lerias the City Health Officer was requested and conducted of a post mortem examination on the cadaver.

CAFGU Member Arrested for Kidnapping Charges

BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 20, 2019) - Joint PNP personnel of Bayog MPS, CIDG Missamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and SCAA personnel conducted police operation on wanted person at Sitio Balabag, Barangay Depore, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:00 PM of April 19, 2019.

The operation was resulted in the arrest of Jionrel Largo y Curambao aka “Joy: 34 years old, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur), single, SCAA member and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Puntod, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.

The accused arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Kidnapping under Criminal Case No. 1712 issued by Cherry Joy C. Concha-Ageas, Acting Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 36, 10th Judicial Region, Calamba, Misamis Occidental dated March 25, 2019 with no bail bond recommended.

The arrested person is now in custody of CIDG Missamis Occidental for proper disposition.

1 persin killed in Shooting Incident

MAHAYAG, Zamboanga del Ssur (April 20, 2019) – One person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok Golden Shower, Barangay San Isidro, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:50 PM of April 18, 2019.

The incident was perpetrated by two (2) unidentified motorcycle riding suspects (MRS).

Police Captain Anjelo D Acuzar, Mahayag Police Chief identified the victim as Bonifacio Imfiel Y Geniares, 36 years old, jobless, with live-in partner, and a resident of Purok Mangga, Brgy. Madasigon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation disclosed that at about 5:45 PM of same date, the victim was riding his single MC, Honda XRM 125, color black with white combination traversing from Sitio Sandal, Barangay San Isidro, Mahayag Municipality bound to Molave Municipality, all of Zamboanga del Sur.

While reaching at the above-mentioned place of incident, the victim made a temporary stop at the road, suddenly two (2) unidentified motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) onboard undetermined type of single MC coming from the opposite direction suddenly shot the victim using a hand gun, but same malfunctioned prompting the victim to attacked and grabbed the firearm of the suspect back rider.

However, suspect driver drew his firearm believed to be caliber 45 pistol and shot the victim several times.

As a result, victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body and was rushed to Salug Valley Medical Hospital, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for immediate medical treatment, but victim declared dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending Physician, while suspects fled towards Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene were six (6) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45 pistol, and one (1) magazine of same caliber to be turned over to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) for ballistic examination. The single MC of victim was brought to Mahayag MPS for proper disposition, while motive of the incident is yet to be determined.       

Further investigation disclosed that said victim was a former victim of the shooting incident last February 3, 2019 at Purok 1, Barangay Daniel C Mantos, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director ordered the PNP personnel of Mahayag MPS to conduct thorough investigation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspects.

April 16, 2019 Incident Reports

Brgy. Chairman and another suspect of murder was killed during the Implementation of Search Warrant in Dimataling town, Zamboanga del Sur

DIMATALING, Zamboanga del Sur (April 16, 2019 – The Barangay Chairman of Barangay Baluno together with the suspect of killing the provincial jail guard was got killed during the implementation of Search Warrant  (Law Enforcement Operation) at Barangay Baluno, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur on April 15, 2019 at about 4:00am.

The operations were jointly conducted by PNP teams of the Regional Intelligence Division 9 (RID9) – Task Force Tugis, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Branch (ZSPIB), 902nd Maneuver Company - Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (902MC, RMFB9), Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company (ZSPMFC), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 (RDEU9) and Dimataling Municipal Police Station, implemented Five (5) Search Warrants Numbers 19-01, 19-02, 19-03, 19-04, and 19-05 issued by Presiding Judge, Municipal Circuit Trial Court, 9th Judicial Regional, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the illegal possession of firearms and Republic Act No. 9516 or the illegal possession of explosives

The PNP Team arrived at the residence of Napoleon Paderanga Casocot, the incumbent Brgy. Chairman of Baluno, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur whose residence is located at Purok 2 of above-mentioned place for the implementation of Search Warrant No. 19-04 (for illegal possession of Two M16 Rifles, One AK47 Rifle, Caliber .45 Pistol and several ammunitions).

However, upon arrival of the operating team for the implementation of the said search warrant, the subject person along with Jeffrey Kilat Tulba, 27 years old, a resident of Purok 2, Brgy Picanan, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur along with other armed men open fired towards the PNP Team.

Consequently, the latter returned fire purposely to subdue the suspects; however, it resulted to the death of the above-named persons.

Recovered from the possession and control of Napoleon P. Casocot was:

one (1) unit caliber .45 Colt MK IV Series 80 Pistol with Serial No. 45566,

one (1) piece magazine and

four (4) live ammunitions, while on the part of Jeffrey K. Tulba, the PNP operating team were able to recover from his possession and control

one (1) unit hand grenade fragmentation, MK2.

Further, the team also recovered one (1) unit caliber 5.56mm M16 A-1 Rifle (Colt AR-15) with attached M203 trigger assembly bearing Serial No. 49 7753, two (2) pieces magazine and thirty-four (34) live ammunitions at the vicinity of the armed confrontation.

Furthermore, it was also learned that Jeffrey K. Tulba is one of the suspects in the killing of Manny Deloy Barrientos, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Jail Guard who was gunned down on April 5, 2019, at San Jose District, Pagadian City.

On the other hand, a separate PNP Team also implemented Search Warrant No. 19-02 (for illegal possession of One M16 rifle, One Hand Grenade, One Caliber .45 Pistol and several ammunitions) against Elmer Hapat Tambus of legal age, married whose dwelling is located at Purok 3, Brgy. Baluno, Dimataling.

The subject sensed the arrival of the PNP Team which resulted to the firefight engagement with the operating personnel in running gun battle until he was cornered and neutralized by the PNP blocking force.

Recovered from the possession and control of the subject were the following:

one (1) unit of Caliber .45 Pistol (MK IV Series 80) with Serial No. 78899, with one (1) magazine and

four (4) live ammunitions; and

one (1) unit homemade Shotgun with five (5) live shells.

After the armed confrontation, the PNP team implemented the said search warrant at the house of the subject and recovered one (1) unit caliber .45 pistol (M1911A1) with Serial No. 357165, one (1) magazine and five (5) live ammunitions.

While Search Warrants Nos. 19-03, 19-01 and 19-05 against Romil Glang Mangharal, Rene Glang Mangharal Ii and Renolf Nabacanacruz Lim yielded negative result.

The firearms seized from the possession and control of the subjects of the Search Warrants were turned-over to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Abelon, Pagadian City as matter of investigative protocol, chain of custody of evidence and proper conduct of forensic ballistics examination.

The subjects of the Search Warrant who fought the police operating team and died during the operation were turned-over to the respective family for burial rites preparation.

The served Search Warrants will be returned by the operating team applicant to the issuing court together with the photographs, and pieces of documentary evidence to prove the service thereof.

Murder Suspect Cuffed

MARGOSATUBIG, Zamboanga del Sur (April 16, 2019) - PNP personnel of Margosatubig Municipal Police conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok Mirasol Dos, Barangay Poblacion, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:00 AM, April 16, 2019.

The operation resulted to the arrest of one (1) Robert Mahusay Y Villanueva, a.k.a. bukang, 29 years old, male, single, jobless, and a resident of Purok Mirasol Dos, Barangay Poblacion, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Frustrated Murder, docketed under Criminal Case No. 19-029, issued by Presiding Judge, Branch 29, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur with bail bond fixed at (Php 200,000,00).

Subject person is now temporarily detained at Margosatubig MPS detention center while waiting for commitment order from the court.
