Shooting incident in Pitogo

Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 3:00 AM of July 16, 2014. The victim was identified as Eunrel Maata, 19 years old, fisherman and resident of said place. He was shot by an unidentified suspect using undetermined caliber of short firearm. Investigation showed that the said victim was shot by said suspect while walking in front of the barangay hall of said place after attending a disco held at municipal gym. Based on the information obtained, the suspect suddenly appeared from behind and shot the victim hitting on his right arm. He was rushed to Margosatubig Regional Hospital for immediate medical treatment while the suspect immediately fled to unknown direction after the incident. The Pitogo Police now conducted a follow - up investigation for the possible arrest of suspect. 

Report on illegal discharge of firearm in Pagadian City

A reported illegal discharged of firearm occurred in Barangay Balangasan, Pagadian City at about 9:30 AM of July 16, 2014. The victim was identified as Marlon Fauston Y Liyop, 37 years old, married, tricycle driver by occupation, resident of said place. In his report accordingly, unidentified person pointed unknown caliber of short firearm at him while driving his passenger motorcycle at the abovementioned place. He was chased and followed by said suspect and without any apparent reason pointed him using said firearm. The Pagadian Police now conducted follow- up investigation for the possible arrest of suspects and the motive of the incident.

8 fishermen apprehended in Lapuyan for illegal fishing

Eight fishermen including two minors were apprehended by the Lapuyan PNP at the sea water of Barangay Pampang, Danganan, Linok Midalum, Pingalay, in Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:00 AM of July 16, 2014 after they were caught in the act illegally fishing at the mentioned barangays. Arrested fishermen were identified as Daryl Kalopes Dolores, 17; Anecito Atilano Camansu, 13; Dalan Ligao, 13; Jenny Sumaphi Dansal, 36; Anicito Bernades Camanso, 38; Benjie Timon Salili, 37; Jade Mandeg Danganan, 31; Atilano Ruste, 23; and Elvis Atilano Ruste.  They were arrested by the Lapuyan PNP for violation of presidential decree number 534 (otherwise known as illegal fishing) after they were caught in the act of illegally fishing using fishing net or locally known as hulbot-hulbot. Arrested fishermen were brought to Lapuyan Police Station for proper disposition.  

Vehicular accident in Kumalarang

Vehicular traffic accident occurred at National Highway of Purok 5, Sitio Dacon, Barangay Picanan, Kumalarang, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 4:15 AM of July 16, 2014, wherein the vehicle involved is L300 van color white bearing plate number SEM 251, driven by Private First Class Shalinar Askalani Abdurahsi, 34 years old, married, member of Philippine army, resident of Lower Stanvar Calarian, Zamboanga City together with other passengers. Investigation showed that the vehicle was traversing from Zamboanga City going to Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur, however, upon reaching at the abovementioned place, the steering guide of said vehicle accidentally locked due to mechanical problem causing the driver to losses its control over his driven vehicle and accidentally resulted to said accident. The driver sustained  injuries on the different parts of his body while other passengers identified as Major Joran Abdula, Phil. Army sustained minor injuries along with others passengers. 

Vehicular accident in Midsalip

Vehicular traffic accident transpired at Barangay Timbaboy, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:45 PM Of July 16, 2014. The victim was identified as Jay- R Balibes Nacion, 23 years old, and Grade - III Student of Timbaboy Elementary School and resident of above-mentioned place. He was accidentally sideswiped by a motorcycle sky go 100 color black bearing plate number 9327- JK, driven by Albert Lomoljo, 30 years old, student of JH Cerilles State College and resident of same place. investigation conducted disclosed that the motorcycle was traversing from Poblacion Midsalip Proper, however, upon reaching at the vicinity of elementary school, the victim suddenly crossed the road causing the driver to losses its control over his driven single motorcycle and accidentally sideswiped the victim, as a result, victim sustained injuries on his right leg and was rushed to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital for immediate medical treatment. The driver voluntarily surrendered to Midsalip Police Station for proper disposition. 

Robbery/ Hold-up in Molave

Robbery hold-up incident took place in Molave Public Market Area, Barangay Maloloy-On, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:42 PM of July 17, 2014.  The victim was identified as Desiderio Villamonte Potot, 48 years old, married, businessman and a resident of Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur. She was robbed / hold- up by unidentified suspect with the use of cal. 45 pistol. Investigation showed that the victim after closing her stall/store located at public market, she went near his vehicle (KIA bongo) parked near her store. At that moment, unidentified person armed with said firearm gun pointed him and declared hold-up. The victim then threw her shoulder bag to the ground and was picked- up by the suspect. They fled to unknown direction together with his companion onboard with unidentified type of single motorcycle. The Molave Police Station is now conducting hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the fleeing suspects.
