May 6-7, 2019 Reported Incident from the municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur

Shooting Incident 
PAGADIAN CITY - Shooting Incident transpired at Purok Lumatao, Barangay Gubang, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 01:20 AM of May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Angel Barrientos Besoro, 29 years old, male, married, driver and a resident of Purok Lumatao, Barangay Gubang, Pagadian City.

The victim was attending a vigil on the wake of his neighbor (Lucena Quintana), when he was about to go home, one of the suspects approached the victim and without any words shot the victim four times hitting different parts of his body which resulted to his untimely death.

Recovered from the crime scene are five (5) fired cartridge casings and two (2) fired bullets all of caliber .45 pistol.

After the incident, suspects walk towards the Barangay Hall of Gubang direction.

Motive of the incident was initially viewed personal grudge where the victim was known drunkard of the area.

Top 6 Most Wanted Person of Tukuran MPS, Arrested
TUKURAN, Zamboanga del Sur - Police operatives of Tukuran Municipal Police Station and Sultan Naga Dimapuro Municipal Police Station conducted joint operation against wanted person at Purok 6, Sitio Cartimco, Brgy. Poblacion, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao Del Norte at about 12:20 PM of May 5, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation was resulted to the arrest of the suspect identified as Enrique Marson Y Pinanonang, 27 years old, married, Fisherman and Top 6 Most Wanted Person of Tukuran MPS and resident of same place.

He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest docketed under Criminal Case number 10141-2k11 issued by Acting Presiding Judge Romeo T. Descallar of RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Pagadian City dated December 27th, 2011 for the crime of Murder with no bail recommended.

The Accused is now temporarily detained at Tukuran Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.


2 Died, 1 Hurt in Pagadian City Shooting
PAGADIAN CITY – Two dead, one wounded in Shooting incident transpired at New Agora fronting Santa Lucia National High School, Sta. Lucia District, Pagadian City at about 7:45 PM on May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Noel Carbonillas Y Solmeron, 40 years old, male, married, Filipino, jobless, with postal address at New Agora, Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City.

He sustained four (4) gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body and was brought to Hofileña Hospital by his friends. He is still under observation by the attending physician.

The other victim identified as Mario Binghay, of legal age, a residence at Banale, Pagadian City. He also sustained lone gunshot wound on his right chest and was rushed to Borbon Hospital and subsequently transferred to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Initial investigation disclosed that as revealed by some bystanders in the area that at about 7:45 PM of May 6, 2019, accordingly, victim identified as Mario Binghay arrived at New Agora, Sta Lucia District, Pagadian City on board on a single motorcycle, and few minutes after several gun burst of fire were heard by the by-standers and the two mentioned victims were brought to different to said hospital after seeing them lying with blood.

Further investigation disclosed that there was an exchange of fire being heard in the area considering that the area is not so well-lighted, also hit during the shooting incident were Jhon Kenneth Apolo Y Nepumuceno, 10 years old, student with residence at Purok Kahayag, Dumagoc, Pagadian City and one (1) Benjamin Amparado Y Eleccion, 65 years old, married, driver with residence at Upper Lumboy, Tuburan, Pagadian City.

The latter (Benjamin Amparado Y Eleccion) was driving his passenger tri-van with his passenger John Kenneth Apolo, and while passing at the place of incident was hit by a bullet, Jhon Kenneth N Apolo and Benjamin E Amparado were brought to Mendero hospital, but the former/ victim John Kenneth Apolo was declared dead few minutes after being treated at the same hospital.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene were seven (7) fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol, one (1) fired bullet of caliber .45 pistol, three (3) pieces live ammunition of a 12 gauge shotgun.

The single motorcycle driven by Mario Binghay was taken by his companion just before the responding PNP team arrived.

PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are still conducting investigation as to the circumstances of the incident to determine the real respondents of this case.

2 killed in Shooting Incident
SOMINOT, Zamboanga del Sur – Two person was killed in Shooting incident transpired at remote area of Purok 1, Barangay Pictoran, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur at about 3:00 PM of May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victims as Donald Monto Y Espejo, 41 years old, married, Barangay Kagawad of Pictoran, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur and Antonio Malin Y Patacte, legal age, married, Barangay Tanod of said place.

They were shot to death by unidentified suspects inside the residence of Donald Monto y Espejo. Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds on their head that resulted to their instantaneous death.

Evidences recovered from the crime scene are nine (9) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45 pistol.

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victims were at the house of Donald Monto y Espejo along with children, when suspects armed with caliber 45 pistol and 5.56 caliber suddenly entered said house and shot the victims several times.

The suspects fled towards Barangay Bagong Baroy, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur using three (3) single motorcycles as their getaway.

 PNP personnel of Sominot Municipal Police Station now conducted hot pursuit operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspects.

1 dead, 1 hurt in Road Crash Accident
DINAS, Zamboanga del Sur – One person died while one was hurt in Road crash accident transpired at Purok Makupa, Barangay Nangka, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at about 6:30 AM of May 7, 2019.

Initial investigation disclosed identified the victim as Pedro Macarate, 79 years old, married, farmer , a resident of Purok Manga, Barangay Nangka, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, while he was walking along the highway particularly at Purok Makupa of the same Barangay heading to Barangay Lower Dimaya purposely to return his borrowed steel bar of his Son Jhony Guerra Macarate.

However along the way, there was one of his friend calling and invited him to ride, but when victim cross into an opposite lane of where he was, there was another Single Motorcycle travelling from Barangay Lemonan heading to Dinas Municipality, driven by certain Efren Mamac Vergis,48 years old, married, carpenter by occupation, an a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Lemonan San Miguel Zamboanga del Sur accidentally hit/bumped the victim, which resulted the victim suffered wounds on his head.

After the incident, both victim and the suspect immediately rushed to Chavez Medical Clinic for immediate medical treatment but the victim declared dead on arrival due to his suffered traumatic head injury secondary to vehicular incident according to attending physician subsequently the suspect transferred to Margosatubig Regional Hospital for further medical attention.

2 Arrested for Violation of R.A. 10591 and COMELEC Gun ban
KUMALARANG, Zamboanga del Sur - Two individual were arrested by Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) at provincial road of Purok Kaumahan-B, Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur at about 3:40 PM of May 6, 2019 for Violation of R.A. 10591, Omnibus Election Code (COMELEC Gun Ban), Art. 151 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) for Resistance and Disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person and Presidential Decree No. 9 for Illegal possession of Bladed Weapon.

Arrested were identified as Jerry Salva Y Nadonza, male, married, 51 years old, farmer, and a resident of Purok Poblacion, Brgy. Gawil, Kumalarang and Junriel Cedeño Y Cabaron, male, married, 33 years old, farmer, resident of Purok Kingdom, Brgy. Gawil, both of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.  

The suspects were arrested when above named PNP members were conducting mobile and motorcycle patrol at Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur and able to stop single motorcycle moving in opposite direction whose driver is in possession of caliber .45 pistol with serial number 791524 with eight (8) live ammunitions without license to own and possess firearm and registration.

Also recovered from the driver and back rider were two (2) pieces of hunting knives. Arrested persons are now temporarily detained at Kumalarang MPS detention cell, while above-stated cases are being prepared for inquest filing at the Provincial prosecutor’s office.

Farmer Held for the Crime of Attempted Murder
MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur - Police operatives of Midsalip Municipal Police Station led by Police Lt. Arnold B Superales and Sapad Municipal Police Station, Lanao del Norte led by Police Lt. Mohammad H Bantuas, Acting Chief of Police, conducted police operation (service of arrest warrant) at Barangay Mabugnao, Sapad, Lanao del Norte at about 6:20 PM on May 6, 2019.

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director said the operation resulted to the arrest of Nelson Mansog Y Dagatan, 24 years old, single, farmer, and a resident of Sitio Makawpao, Barangay Mala-Salug, Sapad, Lanao del Norte.

He was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Attempted Murder, docketed under criminal case number 18-10, 1511 dated 17 December 2018, issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur with bail bond fixed at (Php 120,000.00).

Subject person is now under the custody of Sapad MPS for documentation prior turned over to PNP personnel of Midsalip MPS for detention while waiting for commitment order from the court.

19 Held in Pagadian City for Violation of R.A.10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban

PAGADIAN CITY - On May 6, 2019 at about 3:00 PM, Violation of R.A.10591 and COMELEC Gun Ban transpired at Barangay Danlugan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur wherein nineteen (19) male persons were arrested at said place, ten (10) of whom with firearms and nine (9) with no firearms.

Confiscated firearms were five (5) units long firearm of caliber 5.56/ M16 rifle, seven (7) units caliber 45 pistol, two (2) units caliber 357 revolver, one (1) unit caliber 38 revolver, One (1) unit magnum 22, and one (1) unit caliber 9mm Taurus.

Initial investigation disclosed that the arrested male persons were on board on two (2) pick-up trucks are roaming at Brgy. Danlugan vicinity when intercepted and flagged down by patrolling troops of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army and when searched they were found out in possession of firearms when they are wearing civilian attire.

Responding team of Pagadian City Police Station personnel upon called by 53rd IB arrived at the incident area and conducted inventory of confiscated firearms and held arrested suspects in temporary custody for filing of an appropriate charge in court.

The firearms listed below were confiscated on the following-named persons by the patrolling troops of 53rd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army, to wit;
a.     Three (3) M16 rifle with SN’s RP128289 with scope, SN257326, and 223-5.6 with three (3) pcs. Magazine with thirty seven (37) live ammunitions and One (1) Taurus 9mm Pistol with SN TCW36020 with Three (3) short magazine and Three (3) long magazine.
b.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 883599 with three (3) magazine assembly, and twenty-two (22) live ammunitions.
c.      One (1) Caliber 357 revolver firearm (Magnum) and six (6) live ammunitions.
d.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 528147, one (1) magazine, and six (6) live ammunitions.
e.     One (1) Caliber .38 revolver firearm with S.N. 11976, and four (4) live ammunitions.
f.      One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 752841.

g.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 492753, one (1) magazine, and three (3) live ammunitions.
h.     One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 1874360, two (2) magazine assembly, and nineteen (19) live ammunitions.
i.      One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 67788, one (1) magazine, eight (8) live ammunitions, and three (3) live ammunitions of Caliber .45.
j.      One (1) Caliber 357 revolver firearm (Smith and Wesson) without serial number and six (6) live ammunitions.
k.     One (1) M16 rifle with SN120556, One (1) M16 rifle with SN RP 103882, One (1) Caliber .45 pistol firearm with S.N. 573336, eight (8) live ammunitions of Caliber .45, one (1) magazine, six (6) live ammunitions, one (1) M16 rifle with S.N. 120556, one (1) magazine, twenty-seven (27) live ammunitions, one (1) magazine, thirty (30) live ammunitions, and One M16 rifle with S.N. RP 103882.
