SOMINOT - Stabbing
incident at Barangay Libertad, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur on November 28, 2016
at about 10:00 PM. The victim was identified as Dan Ochate, legal age, married,
elected Barangay Kagawad of Libertad, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur. He was
stabbed several times using kitchen knife by suspect identified as Edgar
Padapat Balansag, legal age, married, elected Barangay Kagawad and resident of
same place. Victim sustained stabbed wounds on the different parts of his body
and was rushed to Sominot Rural Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Suspect was arrested by the responding PNP personnel of Sominot MPS and is now
temporarily detained at Sominot MPS lock-up cell.
Report on Natural Disaster
TAMBULIG - A
whirlwind or locally known as “Ipu-Ipu” has reportedly hit in Purok 4, Barangay
Upper Tiparak, Tambulig, Zamboanga Del Sur on November 28, 2016 at about 5:00
PM. Wherein a total of eleven (11) households were affected by the disaster and
six (6) of which were totally ruined, while others were partially damaged.
However, there were no casualties reported. PNP personnel of Tambulig MPS
coordinated with the MDRRMO of said municipality for the relief operation as well
to determine the total cost of damage.

Arrest of Wanted Person
RAMON MAGSAYSAY - PNP
personnel of Ramon Magsaysay MPS led by PSI Benjamin C Napigkit, Officer
In-Charge, conducted police operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 3,
Barangay Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur on November 28, 2016 at
about 1:30 PM. The operation resulted to the arrest of Syryl Briton Basilan, 37
years old, male, married, farmer and resident of the above-mentioned place.
Subject person was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for violation of CO
595,S-2015, docketed under criminal case number 119492, dated September 14,
2016, issued by Hon. Judge Eduardo Cruz Solangon Jr., Presiding Judge, National
Capital Judicial Region, Branch 98, Mandaluyong City with bail bond recommended
of two thousand pesos (PHP 2,000.00). Accused is now temporarily detained at
Ramon Magsaysay MPS lock- up cell awaiting court disposition.
