Rape Suspect Arrested in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY (Aug. 1, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station successfully arrested the rape suspect during the conduct of manhunt operation at Purok Masanagon, Barangay San Pedro, Pagadian City at about 2:30pm July 28, 2018, City Police Official said.

PSupt Saguban, OIC Police Chief of Pagadian City Police Station identified the arrested rape suspect as Melven Berjame Ambetalias “Don-Don”, 26 years old, born on March 10, 1992, with live-in partner, male, Filipino and a resident of Purok Bangus, Barangay White Beach, Pagadian City

Supt Saguban said that the accused was arrested by virtue of two Warrant of Arrest issued by Honorable Judge Peter V Eisma, Regional Trial Court of 9th Judicial Region, Branch 15, Zamboanga City dated July 17, 2017. The first warrant is for Violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 7610 with criminal case no. 36333 with Two Hundred Thousand pesos (Php200, 000.00) bail recommended and four Counts of Rape with criminal case no. 36329 to 36332 with no bail recommended, Supt. Saguban added.

COP Saguban said that the arrested subject person is now under the custody of Pagadian CPS for proper disposition.

Flash Flood in Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur

TUKURAN, Zamboanga Del Sur (Aug. 1, 2018) - The River at Barangay Camanga, Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur overflowed at about 4:40pm of July 27, 2018.

The PNP elements of Tukuran Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee (MDRRMC) proceeded to the affected barangays to give warnings and to assist the affected families to evacuate from their houses if needed and to control the increasing traffic. 

               

The incident was due to heavy rains occurred on the mountainous areas of Tukuran that cause flood to Brgy, Camanga and Upper Bayao, Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The flood raises about 1 meter from the ground that cover the rice fields with water that affects more or less 20 residential houses and destroy some of the road railings with estimated cost of damage amounting to (50,000.00) fifty thousand pesos.

Meanwhile, at about 5:00pm of the same date the level of the flood began to low and drain the roads and rice fields with no casualty accounted. 

Cargo Truck Loaded with Mahogany Timbers Held in Sominot, Zamboanga Del Sur

SOMINOT, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug. 1, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Sominot Municipal Police Station (MPS) intercepted one colored brown Isuzu Truck Cargo Drop side (Comong-Comong) while conducting mobile patrol at Barangay Poblacion, Sominot, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 10:00pm of July 26, 2018. The cargo truck bearing Plate Nr. JEN 641 loaded with voluminous number of Mahogany round logs/timber.

Jesseco Bajao Tejamo drove the said cargo truck, 38 years old, married and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Monte Alegre, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The driver when asked about the pertinent documents relative to the transported round logs, he only presented a Certification from Barangay Tungawan signed by Hon. Elizabeth M Pangasian with Official Receipt No. 1487604. Thus, at the time of the inspection he failed to present the required and necessary documents before the same will be transported like Permit To Cut, Permit To Transport, Certificate Of Verification (COV), Certificate Of Transport Agreement (CTA) and the Scale/Tally Sheets stipulating therein the exact dimensions of loaded timber from the authorized agency.

The driver was also asked about the Certificate of Registration (CR)/Official Receipt (OR) of the Cargo Truck (above stipulated), the same has failed to present.

PNP personnel of Sominot MPS immediately coordinated to Mr. Alvin B. Pitogo, Local/Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer of Sominot of which he immediately responded. He personally explained to the driver that aside from the documents stipulated above, they should secure Certification from the Barangays to the origin of the timber and Mayor’s Permitas to the transportation of the same. A corresponding Official Receipt (OR) will be issued for the matter.

The confiscated timber (mahogany round logs) is estimated around Five Thousand (5,000.00) board feetwith an estimated market value of one hundred twenty thousand pesos (Php120, 000.00) which is now under the custody of Sominot MPS for safekeeping and further verification.

1 injured in Vehicular Traffic Accident

DUMALINAO, ZambSur (Aug. 1, 2018) – One injured in Vehicular accident transpired along Barangay Road of Purok Badian Barangay Paglaum Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:30am of July 27, 2018.

The accident was involving a single MC Rusi color black with plate no 5787 SA, driven by Julie Vasquez Piedad, 27 years old, gasoline boy, resident of Purok Mangga Brgy Upper Dumalinao. He allegedly bumped a pedestrian identified Bernadeth Casil Castañares , 62 years old, and  a resident Purok Badian Brgy Paglaum Dumalinao  Zamboanga del Sur. 

Investigation conducted disclosed that the said single MC was traversing from Brgy Upper Dumalinao bound to Poblacion Dumalinao and upon reaching the place of incident, pedestrian Bernadeth Casil Castañares suddenly crossed the road unnoticed the incoming single MC which causes the victim to accidentally bump by the incoming single MC.

The victim sustains physical injury to different part of her body and was immediately rushed to Pagadian City for medication, while the driver voluntarily surrenders to Dumalinao MPS for proper disposition.

Hacking Incident in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur

PITOGO, ZamboSur (Aug. 1, 2018) - Hacking incident transpired at Purok Banana, Brgy Poblacion Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:30 PM of July 28, 2018. 

The victim was identified as Emelio Biala y Berizo, 41 years old who was already laid on the motorcycle with sidecar and about to be brought to Pitogo Municipal Health center when the responding elements from Pitogo MPS arrived.

The victim sustained several hacked wounds at his nape (tangkugo) and face and other parts of the body resulting from the hacking by the suspect Franklin Bravo y Mahusay, 42 years old, single resident of same place and neighbor of the victim.

Initial investigation conducted by Pitogo MPS disclosed that, prior to the said incident the victim asked permission to his wife to go to their neighbor while the wife was cooking for dinner.

After a while the wife followed her husband so that they will have to take the dinner together.

That upon reaching near at their neighbor’s backyard she saw that her husband was actually hacked by the suspect Franklin Bravo several times hitting at the different parts of the body and she immediately asked assistance from her neighbors while some called the police.

That thru the immediate respond of the PNP elements the said police station and the assistance of the neighbors made to identify the suspect as Franklin Bravo y Mahusay.

The responding police operatives successfully arrested the suspect and confiscated from his possession one bladed (bolo) weapon measured 17 inches with scabbard.

The victim was rushed to Pitogo health center while the suspect together with the confiscated bolo was brought to Pitogo Police Station for proper disposition. Investigator on case is PO3 Rexandy Abalos Onggay, CP number 09072288839.

1 killed in Hacking Incident in Margosatubig, Zamboanga Del Sur

MARGOSATUBIG, ZamboSur (Aug. 1, 2018) – One killed in Hacking incident occurred at Purok Matinabangon, Brgy. Tigui-an, Margosatubig, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 11:20 AM of July 28, 2018.

The victim was identified as Expedita Terez y Basera, 55 years old, married, farmer and a resident of above-mentioned place was hacked to death by the suspect identified as Eusebio Miro, 58 years old, married, farmer and a resident of same place.

Investigation conducted disclosed that on or about 11:00 A.M. of the same date the victim went to the residence of the suspect to get her tarpaulin which was rented by the suspect.

According to the neighbors nearby they heard a heated argument between the suspect and victim. That after several minutes the heated argument stop. 

That when their neighbors verify the area they saw Expedita Terez lying on the ground lifeless and sustained multiple hacked wounds on the different parts of her body that caused her untimely death.

After the incident, the suspect immediately fled to unknown direction. The Margosatubig MPS now conducted hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect. Investigator is SPO2 Fernan Tardo Galadlas with cellphone number 09104756838.

Drug Pusher Busted in Dimataling, Zamboanga Del Sur

DIMATALING, ZamboSur (Aug. 1, 2018) - Drugs Enforcement Unit of Zamboanga Del Sur PPO in coordination with Dimataling MPS conducted buy-bust operation at Purok 2, Barangay Libertad, Dimataling, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:50PM July 28, 2018.

The operation was resulted in the arrest of Abdul Ajees M. Mustapha, 29 years old, single, bystander, high school graduate and a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. Libertad, Dimataling, Zamboanga Del sur. 

Confiscated from his possession were four (4) pc sachets of shabu, and marked money.  The arrested subject person is now custody of said police office for filing of appropriate charges in court. (By JONG CADION)
